5.0 out of 5 stars Seven Levels of Preparedness + More~~ 16 May 2014
By Boxer Dog Lover in Vermont... - Published on Amazon.com

This is one of the most comprehensive survivalist guides that I have read and this author is just getting started! If one follows the advice in this book (to the letter), we will be prepared for all scenarios. The 6 steps to jump start preparedness are included, also. This includes budgets, inventories, documents, insurance, ID's and next of kin. Food storage, water and communications are included, too.

A disaster plan must be written and it will include a threat matrix, as well. I found the tips on caches most interesting and the thought of using an analog watch as a compass really caught my attention. Living in a remote area with a well, I have often wondered about the manner in which to pump the water out without electricity. And, yes, you guessed it, he covers that as well.

I found it to be an all inclusive book with a ton of information included. As the author suggests, one must practice and be prepared in order to survive. And, "knowledge is an asset".

Most highly recommended. Looking forward to his next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information, easy read 16 May 2014

The title is a bit misleading, since there's nothing inherently "lazy" about preparing for survival of a disaster. This book is well-written, and easy to follow. If you are beginning your preparedness journey, I highly recommend this book. It is chock-full of ideas and guidelines to help you organize your thoughts and avoid becoming overwhelmed. I finished it in under 2 hours, including clicking some of the links and reading the associated blog posts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable 9 Jun. 2014
By Andrew Kiely - Published on Amazon.com

this book is well written and although at some stages a bit repetitive, which helped things stay in your head. my one problem was the small fact that for some reason the author focused on emergencies within the US, however with a few adjustments you can convert it to anywhere in the world, such as here in Ireland, which basically rules out firearms. other than its worth the money.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good Reference for Personal Emergency Preparedness 20 Oct. 2014
By Jazzy D - Published on Amazon.com

If you are new to contingency planning or have never lived through a natural or manmade disaster, then this book is for you. As one who has written contingency plans, it is a good reference. There are a links to resources which will make your preparations easier. Based on personal experiences, there were a few technical flaws and incorrect gross assumptions.

You can find all of the information in multilple places on the Internet. Someone stated in their review that they did not see the lazy aspect of the publication. The LAZY part of the title results in the fact that you do not have to spend hours reinventing the wheel. The book lays out all of the information that you need to consider in putting your plan and checklists together.

For the price, I could not pass this one up.
5.0 out of 5 stars HELPFUL 15 July 2014

A survivalist guide which may prove helpful in dealing effectively with the consequences of natural disaster, terrorist attack and other threats that citizens in this day and age should be prepared to deal with. The guide is written in a straight-forward style that puts everything necessary to know into simple, understandable language. The stuff you need to get and the ways to put it together so that you have a set of effective survival tools right at hand is also geared to things that the average person cant obtain inexpensively and without a lot of wasted time and effort. A very helpful and useful guide.
