It is a lovely folding laptop desk which becomes really handy on the bed! However, the two fans are not adequate to cover the area under the laptop's touchpad. As a result, an overheating is usually occurred at that area.

I was looking for something which would enable me to use my laptop comfortably when sitting on a sofa or a in a chair. This lap desk offers a multitude of adjustments making it suitable for all sorts of uses and positions. Each 'leg' is adjustable through 360 degrees. I found it a little fiddly at first to make the adjustments but having got used to the way it adjusts I now find it very quick to adjust to suit whatever I am doing.

This can be used for a laptop, writing on paper, craft activities, reading, eating etc. Its uses are almost infinite as are its adjustments! One of my better purchases I think. It can be folded flat when not in use and is made of metal so is sturdy but not actually heavy as it is made of aluminium. If you're looking for some sort of desk but want something more than the usual laptray with the a bean bag underneath then this is worth a try.

Great product - I am actually using it now. I would totally recommend the product. My only tiny niggle is that it didn't come with instructions of all possible use variations. Once you try a few modifications, it becomes easy to get the hang of it, but it would be a nice touch to send at least a one page instructions guide - this would make things easier and save us, the buyers, some time.

It is great to avoid feeling the heat from the laptop when using it in bed. Great product indeed.

Can't fault the construction and the unit is very robust and sturdy since most of it is constructed of metal. They're easy to operate and thanks to all the leg position options there's probably a working position available for most, if not all, situations. Once you find a position that works for you it's maybe best to get a sharpie to mark off on the joins where the setting is because it's sometimes tricky to remember where you had it set if you have to switch things about often. The little joins have an angle grid thing marked on them already so it's quite easy to keep track of which angles work best for you once you've got them marked.

Our laptops are on from morning to night and they can generate quite a bit of heat but with a combination of raising them on this stand and having the fans blow from below they're kept from over heating. The little lip to hold the laptop in place when the tray part is tilted is easy to pop up and down as needed and doesn't get in the way when typing at all. I don't use a mouse with my laptop but if that ever changes there's a handy little mouse pad attachment I can use.

Very competitively priced too. We already had a couple of these units that we purchased over the last few years and our oldest one has lasted about 4 years so far with almost daily use so I don't envision them breaking any time soon but if they ever did I wouldn't have any hesitation in getting another of this model.

Super laptop stand!

*Note - I was sent this complimentary mouse board model direct from the supplier*

I recently had surgery, lower back. Nothing too serious but recovery time is 2-8 weeks. That being said, I cannot sit down for more than 10 minutes which makes using a laptop (15" Macbook Pro) a huge challenge. I went a whole week of barely using my laptop / trying to use it in bed. I was getting no work done. I finally had enough and decided to look for a suitable laptop stand. Well right now, I am in bed, using the Lavolta stand and writing this review ! The stand itself is made from metal, aluminium but it isn't as solid or thick as you think, but neither is it thin enough to get you worried. It is sufficient. The mechanisms for locking and unlocking the joints to move the legs are decent and allow full 360 rotation allowing you to position the legs however you want. Lavolta provides you with a useful leaflet with potential positions but if you had surgery and your stuck in a bed, the mechanism allows you to be as creative as you want lol. The actual tray that hold the laptop has a little flap that can be pulled up (as sen in the photo) that supports and holds your laptop, preventing it from slipping down. I have a 2011 Macbook Pro, which is heavier and thicker than the current Retina Macbook Pro, and it just about fits (lucky me !). This stand is perfect for the Mac series of 15" laptops. It will work with any laptop but remember there will be excess room on smaller laptops and large plastic windows laptops may hang off on the sides. The cooling fans are a nice touch. I have only used them for a day and are USB powered, and do an adequate job of cooling your laptop. But if your like me, like any other Mac user you already have a case on so the cooling effect won't really be felt by the Macbook Pro. But hey, it's a nice free feature to have. Overall. I am quite pleased with this laptop stand, as it allows me to use my Macbook whilst in bed, recovering from this surgery. Thanks Lavolta !

I bought this initially as a cheap way of creating a standing desk as my back was a bit achey. It worked nicely (it takes a bit of time getting your brain around adjusting it - I had to look up pictures to help and there was a bit of trial and error). It stood on my desk with my laptop on it and I created a lower platform for my keyboard and mouse - perfect cheap standing desk.

Alas too late!

Then the niggly back turned into a full blown slipped disc and I am only comfortable when I am flat on my back. Sitting hurts. Standing hurts. Walking hurts. But with this genius thing I can still work perfectly comfortably. I have a little laptop and a massive one and it copes fine with both. I can work lying on my bed or the sofa and it has been a total lifesaver.

If I had one complaint, I would like the lip that holds the laptop to be a touch higher. But honestly, it's fab, especially for the price.
