The only reason I have rated this 4 stars and added "but be warned" to the title of this review is the fineness of the grind. When you open the air tight container, you will notice the clumps of coffee and this only appears when the coffee is ground really finely. So really, I would say this coffee is just for espresso machines. I have a Gaggia Classic and use this and it works perfectly, but even then the espresso pours quite slowly with an unpressurized basket which also suggests that the coffee is really finely grounded.
So overall, if you have an espresso machine (even quite a top range one) such as a Gaggia Classic, this is for you. DO NOT buy this for French Press etc as it's just far too fine. If you don't have or don't want to own a coffee grinder but want to create really good espresso, this is about the best you will get. It has a nice dark bold flavour to it - one of which I'd love to wake up to.
I currently have 4 different types of coffee that I have come to like, Lavazza Tierra Coffee being the latest to be discovered.
When I feel the need for a dark rich coffee with a bit of body and bite this is the one that I have chosen. Aroma from the coffee as it brews adds to the anticapation of a good cuppa. If you are looking for a good cup of coffee with an after taste that lingers on the palette I'd would recommend this one to you.
The coffee tastes great and is good for espressos as well as any other type you want to make.
This coffee is good value, much cheaper than supermarkets.
However, it is very finely ground. My 15 Bar espresso maker struggles to push the water through.
