I was born in Essex in 1988 and now live in London as a fully-fledged grown up (sort of). I studied illustration at University College Falmouth and graduated with a First Class degree in 2010. Since then I have been lucky to work with many UK and US publishers on some wonderful books.
Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball is my first fiction book that I have written and illustrated. It’s the first book in a fun gothic series featuring a young vampire and her friends, and I hope it will appeal to readers aged 7-9 (and older folk, young at heart!)
I am also the creator of Evil Emperor Penguin for The Phoenix comic, and the illustrator of Sibéal Pounder’s magical Witch Wars series and CBeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell’s picture books and Harper fiction series.
My first author/illustrator picture book, I Don't Want Curly Hair, was published by Bloomsbury in 2017 and has been translated into more than ten languages across the world. I was also fortunate enough to be chosen as the first female illustrator of Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series and have worked on new cover illustrations for Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five series.
When I'm not working, I enjoy doodling for fun, making 3D models of my characters, creating Harry Potter fan art, baking and making ‘To Do’ lists.
