Don't know why there are so many negative reviews... Maybe I got lucky, but my LattePanda worked straight out of the box. Been using it to build my new project for 2 weeks now.
So long as you have an appropriate power supply, as it doesn't come with one (I am using the one that came with my Raspberry Pi) and read the instructions to learn how to turn it on properly (you have to wait until the red light stops flashing, then press the side-button closest to the middle of the board) I don't think you should have any problems.
Just such a shame that a small Kickstarter product like this is getting such a bad rep on Amazon - when it really is a remarkable piece of kit!
I would wholeheartedly recommend LattePanda to anyone! If I have any issues with it in future, I shall update my review.
