I had just about forgotten how much I loved the classic detective stories. Agatha Christie's Tuppence and Tommy Beresford, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Miss Lemon, Ariadne Oliver, Japp, Superintendant Battle, and others, accompanied me through my childhood and well into my adult years as did Peter Wimsey, Albert Campion and so many others. Ms. Astaire has captured the mood, the idiosyncrasies, the expressions and even the settings and plots of stories that came back like friendly old ghosts, to entertain once more. She skilfully creates an engaging cast of amateurs who channel some of Christie's most famous detectives to solve a series of entertaining puzzles, in this delightful spoof, crocheted as skilfully as Miss Marple herself might, into a warm and comfortable patch quilt of Chanukah-themed fun.
Chanukah mysteries that are tied together like a present....

I love Libi Astaire and all her books. This was a clever connected group of short stories that all connect in the end. Reach is ashore mystery told by a member of the senior living community at the lunch table. Then a dead body is found in the library. Astaire ties it all up in a neat bow at the end.
