The Last Thing By Briana Gaitan - Reviewed by Klaire Sutherland

A good, solid book with a decent storyling despite it starting off a little shaky. The more you read, the more you like. I almost put it down but got over my hump and continued with it to find an extremely enjoyable story, with engaging characters.
At first I found Quinn moody and depressing, extremely childish along with it and I struggled to connect with her character. She grows on you however and you begin to like what you read, admire her strength and feel some kind of compassion for her. Her cousin and best friend Ginger, is poles apart form her but they have a friendship they are trying to re-connect after a few years apart and running from her past Quinn finds herself moving in with her. Her heart is broken from losing her high school sweetheart, and then trying to take her own life. She meets Chase at a party, one night stand ensues and the action picks up from here.
Chase, self professed womaniser, likes the ladies. Has an arrogant, jumped up attitude and you feel twinges of dislike towards him initially. He finds something different in Quinn right off the bat, probably her high tops, but he likes what he sees and after their one night stand he ends up a little hung up over her. He lives up to his name and Chases her. She's not interested.
Quinn falls pregnant and finds she ha no choice but to involve Chase in her life. What begins is a tentative relationship that struggles against th demands that his profession (acting) have on them. They struggle and persevere and ultimately achieve their goal. There are some sweet and attentive moments from Chase through out this book, but also some frustrating "you didn't just do that" moments too. Sexual chemistry is quite something too.

****I received this arc in exchange for an honest review****

When starting this book I didn't expect it to the way it was, and I was extremely pleasantly surprised. This book was just WOW, I loved every minute of it.

It was such a refreshing read and I was pulled into the storyline.

Briana this is a great read, I loved and felt sorry for Quinn such a terrible experience for her to go through. Chase sexy Chase he knew what he wanted and he didn't stop, I loved the connection that he and Quinn have and that he was her saviour.

This book was so well written, the plot different and fantastic and the characters beautiful. I loved Ginger a as well and I cannot wait for the next book for her story, I'm intrigued with her past.

Briana thank you for writing a great book and I look for to the next.

The Last Thing is one of these books that when you start reading it you will not be able to stop until you read its very pleasing conclusion.

The story of Quinn and her journey to start a new life for herself in Los Angeles is one that all girls would dream of, meeting a Hollywood actor and falling in love but Quinn's life prior to her arrival in LA was far from sunshine and roses, a tragic event has made her escape to her cousin Ginger's house and with it comes exposure to Ginger's life as a soap star.

Quinn meets and quickly succumbs to the charms of Chase, a fellow cast member of Ginger's, their amazing instant chemistry leads to a seriously sexy one night stand. Quinn knows that Chase is a love em and leave em type of and doesn't hold much hope of relationship with him.

Fast forward several weeks later, Chase can't believe that Quinn is avoiding him, but she has a good reason she has discovered she is pregnant and needless to say is mortified that this has happened.

The story continues with her telling a gobsmacked Chase of his impending fatherhood, after his initial shock he decides that he wants to make a go of it but is Quinn ready to enter in to another relationship when her previous one is still so raw in her mind plus can she cope with all the trappings of stardom that Chase is surrounded by?

The Last Thing is a great read with fab characters and a gorgeous story line!

I was given this book to write an honest review.
The Last Thing was a great read and I loved it. My only criticism was that it ended!!!
I do feel it had a similar likeness to a book I have already read but that did not make it any less enjoyable. The characters were well explored and likeable - Chase ermmmmm very dreamy!!!!! At times alittle too good to be true but wouldnt mind being swept off my feet by him.Quinn was well written and a great character with some past demons to conquer. As for the others I can see they will be factoring in future books.
The story itself was brill and had me giggling and tensing at times because I wanted it to go one way and it went the other.
Would recommend if you want a good read with no cliff hanger.
