Ok so I wasn't expecting that!
The reviews were good, but not "it blew me away" good, so I went in expecting a relatively simple second chance romance.
Oh boy!
It hit me right in the feels, and kept hitting me over and over again!
My heart broke for Ethan. Seriously, absolutely broke! Oh the feels he gave me, unbeatable.

Not a standard sports romance. At all. The heartbreaking glimpses we get into Annies past tore me up. It's strange, as I said, we get glimpses, not full on brutal detail of Annies past abuse, and it's definitely not the darkest I've read by any stretch of the imagination, but what makes it different is how Ethan feels her pain. Quite literally. They are two halves of a soul.

I floved (yes, it is a word) The last shot.

It's a beautiful heart-wrenching story that leads into an epic second chance romance.
It will now be on my go to shelf when I need a good dose of the feels.

Yes, I definitely recommend, and I am going to stalk -ahem! Look out for Sara Hubbard as of now.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I highly recommend and it has enough action and drama to keep you on your feet. The journey is not as easy and straight forward but even so it's entertaining and doesn't drag on and get repetitive like some. Ethan is a straight up protective Alpha male. What I appreciate the most is the continuity and attention to detail, there's the reassurance that the story remains true and consistent. I wish they have a part 2 to their journey! I loved this book!

I love second chance romance stories, and i have recently got an affinity for sports romance books as well. So i was loving reading this book. When you are alone and with no love it is hard to trust people, no matter how close you become to them. But when that person wants you to start living your life with them, it can be hard to turn your back on the one person who made you feel loved at a time when life just sucked. I totally saw and agreed with Ethan and his thoughts and Annie's. Both have past issues that are affecting their lives no in the present day, but sometimes that connection you have with someone is hard to dampen down because the feelings can be too strong to deny. Very good second chance romance story

Nice second chance romance between childhood friends. Ethan is now a hockey player in the NHL and Annie is a Nurse in their hometown. Their paths cross again and their feelings run very deep...too deep to ignore. Nice story with interesting characters and a good plot.

I liked the book but I didn't love it. Didn't feel as connected to the characters as I would have liked sadly.
