This is an awesome tale of what you can accomplish as long as you believe! Sam, William and Suzie hear the news that the Prime Minister is abolishing Santa. Instead of idly sitting by and letting their beloved Christmas idol be packed away and forgotten, they devise a plan and mount a rescue!

Along with the help of some Santa's most devoted elves, the children find that one of Santa's most beloved treasure keepers, Sebastian Scrimp, who is also a family member to one of the children, has turned against Santa and is influencing the Prime Minister's decision. The children face many of their fears and tackle large obstacles all in the name of what they believe. This story has many twists, turns and lots of adventure that leads children of all ages on a great holiday quest!

Great holiday read!

I was thrilled to see a book that doesn't follow the normal Santa type of tale...a different angle taken which amuses and excites leading up to a a really good ending. Well crafted and immensely suitable for this time of year. I read this with my 8 year old grandaughter in mind and she would enjoy the read.

3.0 out of 5 stars An OK start to the Christmas season complete with several rounds of hot cocoa 1 Nov. 2013

To get me in the holiday spirits my hopes are to post atleast one Christmas book review a week now until the day. Because I'm not heavy into romance, pickings might be toward the slim side but I guess I'll just be surprised as to what shows up. I believe another reviewer hit it on the head when they said this book was more an adventure for 5-9 year olds since as an adult I found it didn't leave me with much of a tug on the heart strings as I would have liked. But since it was a decent enough start I'd give it 2.5 stars rounded up because the Season is fast approaching! And for more very good Christmas books for less than a dollar, please see my reviews for :

1) The Baker's Dozen: A Saint Nicholas Tale by Aaron Shepard
2) The Steadfast Tin soldier (Illustrated) by Hans Christian Andersen
3) A Little Book of Christmas by John Kendrick Bangs
4) A Christmas Crossing by Lynn Hubbard
5) Stinky Santa by Otto Fishblanket
6) A Family for Christmas by Helen Scott Taylor
7) Holiday Tales Christmas in the Adirondacks by William Henry Harrison
8) A Budget of Christmas Tales by Charles Dickens and Others
9) Ginger's New House by Shawnda Blake
10) The Life of a Snowflake by Kurt Zimmerman

Merry Christmas!
