As a massive Paige Toon fan, I immediately pre-ordered and awaited its delivery straight to my Kindle - as I do all her books!

From reading the very first page, I was completely engrossed and knew this was set to be another brilliant story! Bridget and Charlie's relationship is one to watch throughout and it's truly wonderful to read its blossoming along the way. Charlie's inevitable grief and the concept of a ghostwriter is a clever move which adds a wonderfully, unexpected and different element to the story. For me, the settings of Cornwall and Thailand are equally fantastic and very much add to the whole reading experience. Paige has the incredible ability to create characters and settings that you instantly identify with and grow to love. Avid Paige Toon fans will also appreciate mentions of some other characters from her previous books, which I personally love!

The Last Piece Of My Heart gave me full on goosebumps and will definitely be one of her many books that I read regularly, Its charm, wit, grit , romance and grief are fabulously intertwined to provide you with, what I think, is her best book to date! Can't wait until her next one.. counting down already!

I am a long time fan of Paige Toon and I savour every minute of her stories. This story is set mainly in Padstow a place I know so well and I have cycled the Camel Trail that Bridget uses so often, I could picture the views across the estuary to Rock. Bridget is a character I have met in a few other books by Paige, but now she gets an upgrade from 'friend of the main character' to being 'the main character' and a worthy promotion it is too. Becoming a ghost writer for another travel writer takes Bridget on a journey she didn't plan for, researching in the deceased writer's home where her husband and baby daughter still reside, Bridget reads through the diaries of a woman no longer alive and knows more about her than her family ever will.
At the same time as 'ghost writing' Bridget is tracking down all her exes for a blog, which was a nice side story as it paints a more vivid image of Bridget as we know more of her history. It also explains why her relationships have resulted in her current status and why she wants the pieces of her heart back, little realising that some of those pieces never left her. Paige paints a true life picture with her words and I was transported to Padstow and Thailand so much so that I was convinced I could smell the pasties and sun lotion. I cried a fair bit reading this as it really moved me in several ways from Charlie and April's story, to the heartache and realisation Bridget endures. To move a reader is the sign of an excellently crafted story and it is not the first (or the last I hope) that Paige's writing has moved me to tears. I was so pleased with the ending as Paige doesn't make them trite and work miracles so that everything is magically fixed. It stayed with me long after I finished it and I really loved it with all my heart, not just a piece of it.

Having read all of Paige Toon's books I can honestly say she's a favourite of mine, nevertheless, I keep expecting there to be a book she writes that doesn't grip me and win a piece of my heart but that honestly hasn't happened to date. You deserve my pet name for you Paige as that's exactly what you are - an author whose ability demands you turn the next page. In short this is another truly wonderful book by Paige - can't wait 'til your next one. Thank you for this one, I loved it.

I've been a huge Paige Toon fan since I read Lucy in the Sky all those years ago and have got all of her books. I love how she links characters from each of her books, it feels like she's keeping all the other characters alive and we get a little glimpse of how they're all getting on in life! Paige has a way of really engaging the reader and you feel like you really do know the characters personally! The Last Piece of my Heart was no different. Unlike a lot of Paige's books, this one doesn't have a lot of the drama and plot twists that her others have, but it didn't make it any less of a good read. The storyline was so well written and had me hooked from the start! I fell in love with Bridget, Charlie and April and I felt all the emotions that they went through. I was hoping the story would go the way I wanted it to and I almost couldn't wait to get to the end to find out if it did! As is always the case, the book has to end, but the story has continued swirling around in my head since I finished reading, and I think that is the sign of a truly brilliant author. Well done Paige, I think this is right up there as one of my favourites! Xx

Paige Toon did not disappoint. I read this in less than a day, in two sittings. I didn't want to put it down. I've read all of Paige's other books and the Johnny Jefferson series was always my favourite, however I now think that this book has took first place.

I absolutely fell in love with all of the main characters and the locations. Excellent read!!!

I wait every year for the new Paige Toon release and this one did not disappoint. It felt a little different from her usual love story but I was immersed in the lives of Bridget, Charlie and April and felt the sun (and rain) of Cornwall and Thailand on my face.
Just another year to wait now....
