About the Author

"New York Times "and "USA Today"bestselling author Jessica Clare writes under three pen names. As Jessica Clare, she co-authors the Hitman series, and writes erotic contemporary romance. As Jessica Sims, she writes fun, sexy shifter paranormals. She also has a third pen name, because three is more fun than two. As Jill Myles, she writes a little bit of everything, from sexy, comedic urban fantasy to fairy tales gone wrong. She lives in a teeny tiny town in North Texas that has no Starbucks, which is a cruel and unusual punishment. She spends her time with her husband, pets, and Keurig. Because, coffee.
Jen Frederick is the "USA Today" bestselling author of the Woodlands series as well as co-author of the Hitman series. She lives with her husband, child, and one rambunctious dog. She's been reading stories all her life but never imagined writing one of her own. Jen loves to hear from readers so drop her a line."

One word can review this book. BRILLIANT. It is such a good story with plenty of steaminess, excitement and the dialogue between Naomi and Vasily is so clever and funny that I was laughing out loud most of the way through the book. These two lady authors have come up with a complete gem of a BOOK and if you don't get and read this book you'll have missed out on one of this year's star stories

4.5 - "All will happen as it should." Stars!

Last Kiss follows in the tradition of its predecessors in the Hitman series, in that it is an absolutely stellar read. I love the way that that Jen and Jessica have managed to take characters that let’s face it, under normal circumstances you would run a mile from and make them likeable, on some levels relatable and completely fall in love with them.

I am fascinated by this man.

I felt the same for Vasily, on the surface a hardened, brash, cold emotionless killer, but pair him with a woman who although completely different struggles in the same ways he does, with self expression, feeling emotions and sharing her feelings and you have a perfect match. Naomi due to her Aspergers and Vasily due to his upbringing and the life he generally leads have more than a few things in common, some funny... some sad, and I found myself laughing as much as sympathizing with both of them as the book progressed.

”You don’t get to finger me again.”

This isn’t your hearts and flowers romance, but the authors have still given you a story with all the emotion and expectations you would expect in the building of a relationship, it is just in really extreme circumstances. The story begins in Brazil pretty much where Last breath left off.

”I will not hurt you so long as you do as I ask. Be loyal and you will live. Cross me and you too, will have a hole between your eyes.”

In their search for a priceless carvaggio painting, their journey takes in the sights and some of less salubrious destinations of Italy (although some of the things that Vasily and Naomi saw in Venice, I am glad I missed on my own trip there!) and then back to Russia for the climax of the tale.

I gave Last Kiss 4.5 Stars.

From the moment Naomi was introduced in Last Breath, I wanted her story immediately. Vasily is an anti-hero of sorts and at first I wasn’t sure if he was a good match for Naomi but after reading Last Kiss, he quickly won me over.

Naomi is a computer genius; there isn’t anything she can’t do when it comes to numbers and scripts, but ask her to mingle with the real world and that’s where her weakness lies. Naomi doesn’t see the world the way in which we do, she’s an Aspie and her differences are what makes her unique. Many times I was laughing aloud at Naomi’s monologue, everything is very literal and she calls it as she sees it.

I loved that Naomi wasn’t the average heroine; she was so much more. Vasily acquired her skills to track down an ancient painting, he believed by doing so, he would gain the respect and power he needed for his crumbling Bratva but what neither expected was to find a kindred spirit in each other along the way.

Naomi and Vasily’s quest was an entertaining one; from exploring different countries, secret sex clubs and mainly each other, I fell in love with each of them separately and as a couple. I started this book late in the evening and couldn’t put it down until I reached the end. I’m a huge fan of both Jessica and Jen’s writing and whoever was responsible for Naomi’s POV did a stellar job.

If you are new to this series, I would suggest you read Last Breath first, just to gain some background information on Vasily and Naomi but if you don’t have the time or patience, then by all means dive into this one and enjoy! ~Ava
