And what of this album, Last Days of Babylon?

Well, once upon a 2017, Darren Nesbit sat in a recording studio. He put a blank CD into the recording slot. He sat by a small table, with a plate and a knife and fork. On that plate he put a Bible. On the walls around him were pictures of Churchill, Blair, Marx, Lenin, Mao, Obama, Trump, the Goldman Sachs building, the EU building in Brussels, Brueghel’s Tower of Babel, and more. On a bookshelf were Shakespeare, Orwell, Huxley. On a desk was an open copy of the New York Times. Beside it was television playing the BBC News. And a radio was playing some pop music and advertising jingles. Whirling on a turntable songs of Bob Dylan were playing, ultimately The Times They Are a-Changin’, It’s Alright Ma I’m Only Bleeding, and Masters of War. In Darren’s mind was his folk guitar. He set the clock. He pressed go for the CD. He took a knife and fork and, for 40 minutes, he cut up sections of the Bible and devoured them, tasting sweet, but making his stomach better. After 40 minutes he had eaten all of it. He pressed to stop for the television, the radio, and the turntable. Then he pressed stop for the CD. He flicked the exit lever. He pulled it out with gloves on, because it was red-hot. When it had cooled down he put it in the CD player. And there were seven songs, culminating with Nobody Can Hold the Winds, about the return of Jesus. He said to himself, I think I’ll call it Last Days of Babylon. He designed the cover. And made copies to distribute among his friends. Christopher Sparkes had to go to Chichester, so he put the CD in the slot in the car, turned the volume up, right up, and just as Nobody Can Hold the Winds was finishing for the third time he was already in Chichester, not knowing quite how he’d got there so quickly.

Don’t miss this one, amigos. Gold. Absolute gold. Nobody Can Hold the Winds is, I think, better produced than some of Dylan’s best. And I’m not easily pleased. I want to do some harmonica backing of one or two of them. Can’t do that in the car. Maybe in the park …

I had been told by a friend that daznez was the latest hot name coming out of Manchester , England so happily parted with my ten bucks . my god how I wished I hadn't bothered , boring acoustic tunes mixed with religious new age nonsense had me turning off before the end. I just wish this guy would fall of the edge of the earth frankly
