After having two of these Kingavon stove electric fires in the last 9 months I'm sadly now having to look for another make as both of the fires went 'bang' and stopped working within weeks of being used. (Both fires were from different outlets so not from the same company). Having had my house rewired (about ten months ago) I know for certain that there's nothing wrong with my electrics and nothing else in my home has blown up - so I've come to the conclusion that there is an inherent fault with the fires themselves. I'm sad that this is so because out of all the faux 'stoves' I've looked at - this one was the most convincing design, and it had such a 'presence' - even when not turned on.

I would add that I'd never actually used the heater part of the stove fire - except to occassionally turn it on to ensure that it didn't get dusty inside - so just turned on for a couple of minutes or so to blow any dust out. But I used the flame effect during the cooler evenings to give a warm glow - and it was this which has apparently made the electrics blow. I've had other fires in the past (in previous homes) and not found this to be a problem - so it must just be a characteristic attributable to this Kingavon stove.

I wish they could find and solve this problem because if they did, I'd buy another one exactly the same design in a heartbeat, as the design is absolutely lovely.

Fix the problem Kingavon and you'll be on to a winner!
