Product description

A lasting and tangible monument to the brave men who fought for their country in the first tanks. -- The Armourer Magazine

Richard brings forward people who might otherwise be over looked in the tank story, and he does it very well. -- The Bovington Tank Museum

This impressive book is a factual accout of the creation of the first tanks by William Foster in Lincoln. -- Best of British Magazine

From the Author

I have always wanted to write this book. I have strong family links with the world's first tanks and their production in Lincoln. For the first time the story of the 'grass roots' creation of this remarkable invention is told from the perspective of the ordinary people who made it. This isn't a book about Generals or famous battles, it's a book about the first tanks and its makers. I've been collecting information and photogrpahs for years, some of the images I've used and the production details/numbers of Lincoln made tanks have never been published before.
