As a insatiable journalist, I have used a lot of journals. This has a very beautiful cover, with pages that are of a decent quality. It is let down by the large lines, as this means that the journal is used up very fast. It is comparable to journals of a higher price, in terms of quality and is excellent value for its money.

The cover is gorgeous, and the pages (lined) are nice and thick. Ink doesn't tend to bleed through, so you can use either the roller-ball type pens, or the free-flow ink types (which is what I use). The only problem I have with it is that it's very difficult to rip out pages if you want to do that. Sometimes journalling can be a cathartic experience, and when you're done, you don't ever want to see those words again, and the easiest thing to do is rip out the pages and throw them away. With this journal and the way the pages are fastened together, I don't think it could be done without doing serious damage to the overall binding.

Peter Pauper diaries are just beautiful, and this is no exception. The red is a really deep colour, punctuated by the shiny gold of the decoration. The only downside is that it's a little smaller than I wanted (some of their Celtic-themed journals are larger, but I've already bought them and filled them up). Also, I really like it when there is an integral ribbon for marking one's place, and this doesn't have one. Other than that, great weight of paper, nice ruling that's not too intrusive, and pleasant cream colour.

It's better than I expected. The cover is texturized, the pages are thick, lines are the average size as you would have on ordinary writing paper, arrived 4 days early, it's beautiful. It's wonderfully made and the pages are flat so you could write all the way across the page with no problem. For the price, it's brilliant. It's a book you could write in for a long time without getting the feeling that you'd like to start a new book half-way through. Will soon buy another one of these.

These are lovely, especially for presents, but you will of course want one (at least!) for yourself. The paper is lovely and thick, but not bulky, so if using a fountain pen there's no 'soak through' to the back of the page. The cover is beautiful, and not too girly if you are thinking of giving it as a present to a man, more of an ancient eastern look to it. I bought a couple of these originally as presents - only one got used as a present (which was very gratefully received!) but I had to keep the other for myself. The pages are not white, more like a creamy pale colour. Great for the price!

This book is absolutely stunning. It has a richly covered colour, which is textured and features a lovely pattern. The paper inside is a lovely thickness too and this looks great left out on a bedside or bookshelf. The only reason I have put 4 instead of 5 stars is as a lot of journals are unlined, allowing you to write at the size you wish. This, however, has lined paper inside and the lines are fairly far apart, which may not be to everyone's taste. I know I personally prefer to write smaller within journals, to make the most of space and this may be the case for quite a few avid diary keepers.

This book has great potential as a place to collect thoughts, poems, recipes or other things as well as being a personal diary, so I would definitely recommend it as a gift for someone who likes writing or pretty notepads. It is very well made and stunning, so is definitely worth the price.

The item itself is great. Lovely quality. But please in future it would be nice to receive a product with a peelable sticker on the book. I peeled it off as carefully as I could, and of course was left with bits of it left stuck firmly. I had to gently apply some warm water to eventually remove it all, and now left with some of the sticky glue stuff still making that area tacky. It's a nuisance, and could have been avoided with a proper peelable sticker.
