Absolutley superb and a very good indication of life during and after the war years.Excellent acting from all the cast
and as realistic as it can be for being made in the 21st century.

Exudes all the class that is associated with the BBC. Love the authentic costumes and props. The story lines match all the taboos of the day along with the entertainments that were popular in that era. Great characters played by talented performers. Whisked me back to my childhood.

It's easy watching all right but the story lines jump all over the place and characters pop up and leave without much explanation other than "oh they've gone now".

Not much in the way of substantial story lines but it is a pleasant enough watch and if you can overlook poor acting and characters leaving and in some cases even changing actors then id say give it a go.

Very enjoyable set - and plenty of it!
The series is full of characters you can get to care about and, more importantly, is set against the background of WWII. As well as the general historical backdrop of the life of the land girls; every episode deals with another real issue which people had to live through during the war - including many genuine moral dilemmas

Covers the lives of a group of landgirls placed on a farm over a few years, their loves, hopes and losses. At times story a bit unbelievable and contrived but in all a gentle series to watch. One critical feature is that characters were written out in subsequent series and one had two actors playing the same role in two series

Mother and I watched all three series together. Enjoyed series one and two. However, felt that series three was lacking in ideas.

Well worth watching though. Lovely to see 1940's war drama's on television.
