I chose this one as it was solid metal and had a hole in the back I could put the charging cable through.
The stand is very solid and the weight of the metal keeps it stable.
Small brackets at the bottom are 15mm deep and let the phone fit even with the soft plastic cover. There are also rubber pads to protect the phone from scratches.
I also tried a nook HD+ 10inch pad and it held that stablely in portrait format although not in portrait format.
If your phone charges at the base it can be a bit difficult to connect the cable if your cable is stiff but the braided usb C cables I have are easy to connect.

This stand is brilliant! Well made of metal so not flimsy like plastic can be. As you can see from my photos it holds a iPhone (mine is a 6s) with a wallet case perfectly and also holds a Samsung phone. I love the fact you can charge without bending the charging lead, I often use my phone for recipes off the internet so now I can read them more clearly as I won’t have to prop my phone up against something in future!By sw on 6 December 2018

If you have a flexible cable it is OK however for those with bulky ones might want to look at the adjustable version. After I reviewed this Lamicall's spokesperson got in touch with me and sent me another stand as the STANDARD version cannot accommodate my bulky charging cable. Props for their help in finding a solution. I have attached pictures to show the difference between them.

A STANDARD phone stand

The stand is a bit too short; the "hooks" that hold the phone are too close to the stand which results in cables which can't fully bend to the back of the stand(see pic for reference). The only solution I have thus far is to place it horizontally if I need to charge it. That being said it is sturdy and light and looks good.By Amazon Customer on 29 August 2018

Mobile phones often need to be standding upright. I want my phone screen to be readable on my bedside table. I want my phone to stand up at mu desks at home and at work so I can operate it, see messages and browse through music. I want my children to sit drooling in front of their small mobile screens rather than hang over it in an even less natural position.
So this stand, very sturdy but elegant in design meets a lot of my requirements. Such a stand is what I have been looking for since I got my first HP Ipac - an ancient mobile device - in 1999. Aesthetically it blends in with most offices and interiors. I ordered 2 for now but might buy one or 2 others.
Can it improve? well, it would be nice if it had a pad in the upright position that charges the phone wirelessly, to get rid of the little hassle with power cables.
Very pleased for now. And these stands are not too costly.
