I received a £1 coin holder as a present may years ago and with it's ability to hold 13 £1 coins, I found it invaluable for retainng coins for parking meters and the like. During the time I have had it, I have been asked on a daily basis where they can be purchased by like minded individuals. Having found them on line, I therefore decided to purchase several to give out as small stocking fillers at Christmas.
These however, I found a bit disappointing, whilst they are perfectly adequate and do what is says on the tin; holding 13 x £1 coins in a spring loaded holder - the holder is light weight cheap coloured plastic and not as robust as the one I have used for over 10 years. You get what you pay for and this is probably good value for the money, however if the description had indicated that it was just plastic, I would probably have been tempted to spend more money in an attempt to replicate the metal case I already possess.

Love this. Thought I was only buying one, but got two. Keep one in the car with pound coins and 20p For car parks and toll bridge.

Looks good in photo, but is 100% plastic construction. Other £1 coin holders I've owned were more robust with metal inner. I would say these are overpriced at £4. They should be more like £2 max.

PRODUCT WAS A BIT FLIMSEY. ON REFLECTION, I SHOULD HAVE GONE FOR A MORE SUBSTANTIAL UNIT.

Now it could be that I didn't read the write-up properly or it could be that the diagram gives the impression that this is a sturdy piece of equipment. Take my word for it, it isn't. It's cheap plastic in design and the spring does not feel sturdy at all. Significantly disappointed as I do already own a metal coin holder which is superb and as a relative wanted one similar I purchased this one under the false perception that it would also be metal. How wrong was I?

This item was dispatched quickly, and arrived in a timely manner. The build quality is, however a little disappointing. Both the tube and loading platform are made of a rather lightweight plastic, rather than metal, giving the unit a somewhat flimsy and insubstantial feel. For the moment, it does the job, and will indeed accommodate roughly 15 pound coins, but I have misgivings about its durability. Not quite worth the money paid, I'm afraid.
