And so they maybe could live happy ever after, but...
Peter, ex-accountant from Birmingham, now permanent resident aka ex-pat since 35 years in Thailand, with a Thai wife and three kids, meets Jeremy in Jool's Bar on his third day in Thailand. He is sipping away one Chang Beer after another, and soon John has got the whole story: Peter's wife left him for a taxi-driver, took the daughter and the dough. Peter was without home, but had a nest-egg for rainy days. Now he was in Bangkok, an unemployed, unhappy photographer, hoping for a new life in the Land of The Smiles...

A happy, little, normal family - father - mother - child, was all he wanted.
And he did all he could to create it...
An other of Stephen Leather's exotic-erotic short stories, the narrative always without being vulgar.
Very worth reading it! Highly recommended for all sexes - male, female and the third one, too :)!
There was a lesson to be learned here for all of us irrespective of gender - to look beyond the surface.
Anyone thinking of visiting or moving to Thailand would do well to read some of Stevens books. More graphic than Lonely Planet and more honest than any tourist guide.
