Miranda is the plain and boring, but efficient, secretary. When she has to borrow her sister's dress to go to a party and, therefore, dresses in a very different style than usual her boss and lots of other men find her instantly attractive. I found this quite insulting to Miranda (and women in general). It appears that her boss was so shallow that he didn't notice her until she was wearing a revealing outfit - I am not quite sure what she saw in him.
The second issue would involve too many spoilers to outline in full. Just to say that the little white lie of the title was actually a whopper and I did not believe it nor did I think that Miranda should have forgiven it.
Unbelievable and shallow. Not for me.
This story starts with Miranda completely in love with her boss Holt. After an incident with her dress she happens upon his brother Jack who seems to be the complete opposite to his brother. The embark on a relationship, but her old feeling for Holt don't seen to disappear.
There is a massive twist that determines the whole book so I won't say any more as it will give it away. I kinda guessed a bit into the book and I'm really glad that's how the book ended. It's was a perfect happy ending. It's definately a book I'd read again. Highly recommended to anyone. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did
It's a story about how one 'Little White Lie' can quickly need another one to keep it company, then another, and another... Until you're neck deep in deception with limited options for coming clean gracefully.
Little White Lies is a heartwarming story about finally finding out that the one person ment for you is right in front of you (and has been for a while). It's also a twisted plot, that manages to tell how two 'Mr. Rights' end up in the heroine's life, vying for her attention, with confidence. Lie builds on lie, until misunderstanding and anguish are the only result possible. This is a 'love triangle' with a difference and I was completely captivated by it. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did! - Oh yes, and watch out for the supporting 'cast'! Miranda's Grandmother and the butler are priceless!
