E - Ease of Use (9/10)
Straight out the box, the monitor was very easy to set-up. It went on its stand very quickly, and hassle free. It came with all the relevant drivers on a disk, but don't worry if like me you didn't have a drive installed - it works straight out the box, and if you do require the drivers, they're easily accessible online.
P - Price (7/10)
As you can see, you are paying a fair bit more for a monitor that still sits on 1080p HD as opposed to 4k. I can vouch for that price point though, as it gives you a beautiful widescreen 2560x1080 resolution that has a very quick refresh rate - brilliant for gaming, and handy if you have a lot of windows open at once. It almost defeats having 2 monitors, as it's one big long one, and the cost of 2 monitors vs 1 of these isn't far off. Therefore, I think it's a fair price for a great product, but I'd like to see it come down a bit as the 4k market slowly takes over.
I - Innovation (8/10)
LG have always been great with their technology and unique features. It's no different with this monitor! If you work from home or run a business, or perhaps you're a graphics designer, you'll be very happy with the split screen function which allows you to use 4 things at once. As well as this, the monitor is very energy efficient and will save you a lot on your bills when within the super saver mode. There is also a handy reading mode, which really helps with the eye-strain when reading on the screen. Lots of features and innovative technology! The reason it got an 8 is explained below.
C - Content (8/10)
The build quality of the monitor is brilliant, it definitely looks and feels like a premium product. Everything from the black gloss of the stand, to the sharpness of the panel, it's a great looking monitor. The one design flaw, and perhaps this comes under Innovation too - hence the score on both, is the on/off button at the bottom of the monitor (it's a "touch" type button that you click around), it can be a bit fiddly at times and sometimes won't even register your clicks. This may be a fault in my unit, or just me being picky, but that is one design feature I dislike. Not the end of the world though as I rarely alter any of the settings once set up.
All in all, I would recommend this monitor. Gamers will enjoy the extra viewing ratio that is provided, specifically handy for FPS and racing games. Though beware that some games aren't fully optimised for this resolution. There is software out there to help run older games however.
Business-folk and graphics designers will enjoy the multi-tasking benefits and split screen software included.

Ultimately I am very pleased with my decision.
This monitor has so many inputs, 2xHDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI. I have used the feature, whereby you can have two inputs on screen simultaneously by dividing the screen in half, I don't think that this should be a primary reason for purchasing this screen though as the two displays are then quite small.
The resolution is great, at 2560x1080 it makes everything clear. Text is sharp, pictures are crisp, and everything is a joy to look at, especially games that support the resolution (like Borderlands 2).
Of course, due to the screen being IPS, the colours are great and the matte screen is very nice.
Very often the embedded monitor menus are clunky, old, and tricky to navigate (Which button do I press to select the option?!? Is it volume up or menu?). Not so with this. The 'joystick' under the screen is discrete and very intuitive, the best menu/navigation method on a screen I have used by far.
I highly recommend this monitor.
Apart from the above, the unit is easy to set up (intuitive) and the picture superb. Build quality is also excellent. The sound is rubbish, but then they all are which is why I spent £800 on a Yamaha sound bar. Together, audio visual perfection in a small TV Room.
ERRATUM As my father was won't to say, as a last resort read the instructions! It is possible to adjust the screen to movie mode causing the full screen to be used and losing the lost top and bottom horizontal bars (which don't appear when watching a TV box set). Better, although if you're hoping to watch a film with subtitles (in movie mode) these fall off the bottom of the screen. Not a perfect solution then but not 'fault' enough to cost an excellent screen a star.
Only downside is it cannot do a proper black at all but most monitors struggle with that you have to trade off a decent black vs a much smaller screen size.
I will take the 34" LG UM65 everyday of the week the immersion factor is so much better decent Blurays come alive with this screen they look real & the stunning image appears bring the movie into the room with you!
It's great for dual, triple or quad screens - even on remote desktops. Some websites when viewed full screen are a bit weird as they're not set up for ultra wide viewing (just switch to split screen), but overall, if like me you use it for development and testing at the same time - and / or play then you'd love it.
The split screen gives you two monitor's worth of desktop space but without the bezel breaking up the area.
It will feel strange - alien at first, but give it a couple of weeks and it then feels perfectly normal.
Plus you get bragging bonuses when your friends see such a behemoth on your desk.
It's certainly a talking point...!
Me..? I Love it.
