A very nice set from Lego with a great price considering that you get 5 mini-figs, goes well with the Hoth Rebel Base set that was released a couple of years ago.

Lego continue to celebrate their 10th anniversary for Star Wars Lego with 7749 the Echo Base battle pack.
The pack consists of a snow wall, a Golan Arms DF.9 anti-infantry battery turret, a BlasTech E-Web heavy repeating blaster and a collection of figures. For the first time ever this kit contains a brilliant Lego Taun-Taun.
The wall defences and the turret can be linked together or displayed as two pieces. The platform behind the wall that the Troopers stand on is hinged so they can tip back and fall off to simulate hits in battle.
The turret features an opening rear hatch with room for one figure inside, opening top hatch with seating for one figure and dual firing flick missiles on either side of the main gun which can be launched by pushing a level at the rear. the upper module rotates the full 360 degrees.
The Taun-Taun is nicely done and had moveable arms and removable horns. It comes equipped with reins and a saddle which has storage clips on both sides and stands an impressive 9 cm tall
You also get five figures with this set. Han Solo (in Hoth gear) is featured riding the Taun-Taun and is armed with a black blaster rifle and a pair of electrobinoculars.
There are 2 Hoth Rebel Troopers with backpacks. The visors on their helmets have been remodelled and made to look more like the ones from the film as opposed to the old 'fighter pilot' goggles we've had to date. One trooper is armed with a black blaster rifle and the other has a black heavy assault rifle.
Finally there are two Imperial Snowtroopers. One is armed with a black blaster rifle and the other comes complete with a BlasTech E-Web heavy repeating blaster and power box. The E-Web is the best version of this cannon to date and looks great.
The snow wall is 11 cm long, 7 cm wide and 4 cm tall.

Got as a birthday present for my son who is 11 and a massive star wars fan. He absolutely loves this. Uses it in conjunction with other lego star wars products and gets hours of fun out of it.

I bought this as a present for my 7 year old grandson and paid the postage as it was a last minute addition. Total cost was £50. Why so expensive for such a small amount of Lego which can be completed in half an hour ? Grandson was delighted with it yesterday but not sure how long the novelty will last so beware as others have said, there is not a lot in the box for a lot of money !

Kept the lad happy for ages, then turned into a dozen other things and back to the original design again.

It's Lego. It's Star Wars. It a quality product. Great design and Dad's love playing too!

We love the Hoth World play sets and have spent many happy ours with a bucket of white bricks enacting 'The Empire strikes back'.

Value for money: This is a great set to get if you can get it for anywhere near the rrp £21.99. If you are working out value for money you get 155 Lego pieces in this set and 5 minifigures plus a Tuan Tuan creature, that is only available in this set or the Echo Base limited edition set.

The build: The build is very quick and fairly easy (recommended age 7-12). There are not that many Lego bricks in it and some of the parts are big one piece moulded bits.

Mini-guys: 2 snow troopers with E-web blaster and black heads under their helmets. 2 Rebel troopers with smiley faces. Han Solo in Hoth winter gear with binoculars & blaster. The first Taun Taun creature to appear in a lego set.

Playability: The snow dug out has a simple mechanism for playing rebel trooper blown out of dug out (just like the film) and the turrets are hollow to hide guys in. The guns are poseable and flick missiles can be fired by a simple mechanism too.

This set is about to become very collectable, grab one while you can - but I wouldnt pay too much for it as it is only a small set. (Grab a rebel trooper battle pack and snowtrooper battle pack too if you can for rrp £9.99 each)

My 3 1/2 year old loved making and then 'un-making' this Lego set. Great fun for both of us. No need for the figures that come with the full set as she's more interested in her Lego figures from other sets.

Well the little man had to have a Tauntaun, and Han Solo in his Hoth gear etc, and it is his first Star Wars Lego set with a base rather than a ship, but overall I was a little disappointed with this one.

Firstly, there is not an awful lot to it; a quick and unsatisfying build.
Secondly the flick missiles are hopeless, and flop rather pathetically out instead of firing any respectable distance.

But of course my 7-year-old loves it anyway, and it has become the goodies base in the corner of our sitting room, with a baddie droid army assembling to attack.

In summary, a high price for a relatively small uninspiring set, but you can't argue with the unique minifigures.
