Bought as a cheap pocket money toy for my little boy. I got it at about 40% off so was impressed by the value.

It comes with approx 55 pieces and is quite easy to make even for smaller ones.

The tow-hook goes up and down and his wing mirrors can also be put in a variety of positions.

The face and signage on him are all printed onto the bricks so no need to worry about stickers coming off later on.

He actually looks quite good with his odd sized wheels and goofy smile, good value and a good first step up from duplo if you want to buy it for younger kids.

Hope this helps

My 3,5 year old loves Cars and has several diecast one's. I like like Mater so I wanted the Mater one of course like any 3,5 year old my son wanted a fourth Lighting?!?). One reviewer mentioned that the size of the car was too small but I think for us the opposite is true. Because Mater has the same size as the diecast Lightings he fits perfectly. Being a Lego car makes him also more durable (no missing chips of paint from crashing) and the makers of Lego supply you with extra lights and stuff so losing something isn't to terrible. Also, the diecast ones are terribly expensive (about 7,00 instead of 5,79 for the Lego ones) and with high use and lots of collisions they chip easily so in my view excellent value for money!

My son loves Lego and recently saw Cars 2, so when I saw this little Mater car from the Cars films, at a very reasonable price, I bought it and was very impressed at how many bits came in the box - I was expecting it to be more simple, because it was a branded one, but you get about 60 pieces.

Over many many years the quality of Lego has proven itself and as the years roll on it doesn't change.. Just wish it was slightly cheaper, I know you only "get what you pay for" but it's still expensive!! Grandad and grandson enjoyed building all the same

I bought this for a 6 year old who is easier enough to build and had great fun with! Like all Lego it is now in a big box and he enjoys building anything he wants now! Good price as children only build the Lego once then it goes in a large box with the rest of it. Great gift!

Bought to go with other lego car toys and my grandsons were happy with them. (we bought two) He enjoys his lego, and think his dad must too, as he seems to do most of the construction, but then my grandson is only 4. Looks quite durable, but a few small bits which look more fragile.
