This is a classic album from yester-year.Loud guitars heavy riffs and screaming vocals. From the guitarist that should of played on appitite for destruction he blasts us through heavy tracks to a couple of ballads.Sounds even better LIVE!
Enjoy.

Probably the rawest of the early LA Guns' albums, this still sounds great fifteen years on. Mixing Phil Lewis' snarled vocals with Tracii Guns' astounding guitar work (probably one of the most under-rated six-stringers of the glam-metal era), it's a rocket-fuelled hellride from start to finish. Although the two albums that followed it, "Cocked And Loaded" and "Hollywood Vampires" (LA Guns' finest moment) are slightly better (possibly because they'd had time to refine their sound a bit), for pure raw punk/glam energy, this is hard to beat.

This the first of many L.A. Guns albums simply self titled L.A. Guns shows you what about a band can achieve on their first album. Being able to conquer a hard hitting powerful dynamic and adrenaline fist pumping screamer of an album. The new and upcoming bands should certainly take not considering it's age only proves it's presence and longevity makes it a classic of the time. With songs that shake the foundations and a production that has a raw essence presence of a Punk rock album.

L.A. Guns(album) was conceived in the competitive days of the sunset strip and released alongside some of the huge releases of that time and yet it still proves itself on musical merit alone. I regard it has one of the best debut albums of all time and I can remember in 2008 when I was just 13 stumbling across Electric Gypsy and it's impact was ever lasting impact.

This record is very much direct, loud and clever and the musical ability is fully on display with Tracii Guns never ending bombardment of riffs, lick and tricks. Each song having it's own identity, charm and character. No Mercy feels like a lost Motorhead track and Electric Gypsy having essence of 70's Aerosmith. It something that I think despite the production not squeaky polished or crystal clean it somehow cements L.A. Guns reputation as a band being able to release a classic.

It's also a documentation of a time when rock really did roll and when it's commercial success was evident as it went Gold in the US.

The only thing ''wrong'' with this album is the production quality. Live, LA Guns were a fierce unit packing a hell of a punch. Otherwise this is a classic record with some great songs on it. Another must have is their 1994 release Vicious Circle.
