1.0 out of 5 stars Not a photography book 14 May 2017

This is basically a book of snapshots. The subjects are interesting, but not artistically imaged. This book is fine, if you are interested in seeing the sights, but cannot be classified as artfully rendered.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well written and Great Job 14 April 2017
By Carolina - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
What a great book! I draw plans for a great resource it has been for me. My company builds wood frame, steel frame, stone and brick and mortar signs. Because of this my drawings have to meet certain city codes of gardens within the temple precincts, many of most famous gardens in Japan. This work contains photos taken in various places in Kyoto I reference this book all the time as part of my job at an Architecture firm. ,I rate it 5 stars! I liked it way better than I thought I would. The diagrams are well thought out and it has all of the code related information that I need. However, have some of the more esoteric and obscure codes that I occasionally need. But that's fine as it's only a small reference book. I would highly recommend this great reference.

There are two things that interest me a lot; architecture, and Japan. Kyoto: Architecture by Marco Carestia is an absolute joy! I wanted to learn more about the historic Japanese city of Kyoto, and I think I learned a great deal from his amazing book. It is clear from this book; Carestia clearly knows what he’s talking about.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Beauty Of Japanese Garden 4 Jun. 2017
By NikkyShow - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Kyoto, is Japan's ancient capital and modern–day center of tourism and traditional culture, and is one of the world's most beautiful and historic cities.

This book contains basically images taken in various notable places and ancient masterpieces of religious architecture in the city of Kyoto

I love the images of some of the famous gardens in Japan, nicely illustrated.
