I have used this and other KWorld television cards and USB dongles for several years, on computers with Windows XP, Vista and 7. They're cheap, they work till they break, then you throw them away and get another. The drivers are also OK.
But they also come with television viewing software: either HyperMediaCenter or a simpler program called TiVMe. And these are complete rubbish. They crash all the time, and especially they crash when they try to make a timed recording, so you get nothing, or sometimes the first hour of the film and it crashes after that. I'd advise you to install the driver only for these products. If you have Windows Media Center on your computer, use that to watch and record TV. If not, download the free program MediaPortal, which is a pain to install because it needs a lot of setting up by hand, but which is utterly reliable once you have got it right.
It's a pity that the KWorld software is so rotten, because on the rare occasions when it works it makes nice MPEG-2 (.mpg) files that are neither too large nor too compressed and blocky, and are just right for transfer to DVD. Windows Media Center makes files in Windows' private .wtv format, which can be quickly converted to .mpg by the free MC-TV Converter but come out rather large. MediaPortal makes .ts files, which can also be converted to .mpg but the process is slow and makes large files. So I really wish the people at KWorld would get their act together and write their software properly.
