Kuch Kuch Hota Hai"" is not a film with a message. It is pure escapist cinema at its best.

All of the actors are in top form here. Kajol is simply brilliant as the gawky, outspoken tomboy who transforms herself into the demure, sexy siren. Shahrukh's performance is heartbreakingly honest at times, and at times he hams his way through scenes, but isn't that why we love him? It must be noted, however, that the Rukhster and Kajol define chemistry in each movie. and this movie is just another example. Rani Mukherjee has the task of playing the most intelligent, attractive, and confident of the characters, and she does it with the perfection of a pro. All of the supporting cast - including Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher, Himani Shivpuri, Archana Puransingh and Johnny Lever contribute to the film with brief but strong performances. --www.platform47.com

Ah, guilty pleasuresfilmmaker Karan Johar is the master of them. Kkhh, as it came to be called, was the first of several Johar films.

The film reunited popular onscreen couple Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, who had created a sensation with their previous pairing in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995) and later co-starred in two more of Johars films, 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) and 'My Name Is Khan' (2010). Kajol's cousin, Rani Mukerjiwho was somewhat new to the industry at the time and later became a big star, often appearing opposite Shahrukh Khanhad a supporting role in Kkhh, along with heavyweight Salman Khan. Johar's directorial debut is the only film he's helmed that's set entirely in India.

The characters are searingly memorable, and Johars signature style is set right from the beginning with a film that swept the major awards and became a cult classic. --www.platform47.com --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was recommended to us by a friend, the cover does'nt do the film any favours, and after the first 15 minutes i thought we had bought a duff film, then wow! it grabbed us. i will write the description from the rear of the dvd as none is written on amazons page:
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a sweet tale of friendship and love. Rahul (shahrukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) are inseparable friends at college. unknown to Rahul Anjali is in love with him who inturn falls head over heels in love for a new student Tina (Rani Mukherji). when Anjali learns the truth, she is heart broken and leaves college. In the meantime Rahul and Tina get married.
Nine years have now passed and Rahul is a Single parent after Tinas death. What has become of Anjali? what is Rahuls daughter upto? Who is Aman? the plot unravels in a dramatic climax and alls well that ends well.
I can only say that this film is fabulous and well worth watching, it now ranks as one of our favourite of all films and its only our second " bollywood" film. The actors, after a slow start, engage you and you feel the whole journey, its normal for me to shead a tear at the end of a really good film, and im not ashamed to admit it! but its a first for me to shead them at many points during the film!

I defy anyone to do anything but totally fall in love with this movie. Within the first few minutes I was crying then laughing and that pretty much sums up the whole film. It is impossible to watch the movie without feeling the love it exudes. As my first Hindi film it totally opened a whole new genre to me and I have not looked back since.
The simple story of the strength of 'first love' after years of seperation is embellished with song, dance and humour to make it the spectacular feel-good movie that it is. The two lead characters play with such a passion and an innocence that you cannot fail to fall for their charms. And as for the little girl - she breathes even more life into a film that is already shouting 'I'M ALIVE'. Yes, you have to expect cheese, multiple 'funky' costume changes and the most catchy theme tune on the planet but it will leave you feeling so good that you'll keep watching it over and over again. I cannot recommend this highly enough!!

This was my very first Bollywood movie and it is a great movie. It is bothfunny and sad, it will make you laugh and it will make you cry. For me, itbrings back so many memories of Secondary School, all those six years ago.It is a film that can be seen by the whole family, like most Hindi movies. There are no scenes where you need to cover your childs' eyes or anythinglike that. It is clean and pure, as love is. It is simply a must see filmand if you are a Bollywood fan, this must be added to your collection.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has all you can ask for: A graet love story, great songs and music, suspence, romance, it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and it has the top Indian movie stars: Shahruk khan, Salman kahn and Kajul (who is stunning). So for 3 hours of a great time (if Indian movies are your kick), go see this movie.
{The best place to see this movie is in India (it's an interactive experiance there.)}

Normally I find any film with SRK in to be good and this is no exception, it's a love story with a twist so a little different but an excellent film and being nearly 3 hours a "proper" Bollywood film with everything you would expect, the sad bits are really sad with some very funny bits too but the star of the film is the little girl .

If anybody has never seen a Bollywood film this should be the first one to watch at least one of a few I would recommend as a first film.

Wow. What can I say. I was urged to watch some bollywood films by a good friend and I am so glad I took her advice. This is the third one I have seen and the best so far. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have so much chemistry on screen I had to check online to see if they were together. From the sad opening scenes to the final scene you are taken through a rollercoaster ride of sadness, happiness and just general all round feel good factor. I thought I would struggle with the subtitles but it was not a problem at all. Bollywood films are very long coming in at just over three hours but I didn't really notice as I just wanted to see what happened next. And I have to say that I loved the singing and dancing as well. If the whole world was like a bollywood movie it would be such a fun and happy place.

Dear Readers & Ms Neelam,
My review consists of ideas and thoughts I acquired when I watched the movie. The movie itself is very 'charming' and delicate. The characters portrayed an atmosphere of love and kindness, the roles of the actors and actresses was complimentary, although I feel more humour should have been directed as it is a family film. Tailored to the film were young and old, and both were witty and enjoyable to watch. The film is very entertaining and a love story to watch, and a proper family film.

A fantastic film with a fantastic sound track. This film has it all the location the songs and a great storyline and not to mention the stunning actresses in their figure hugging saries. Shah Ruk Khan and Kajol compliment each other perfectly as they normaly do. The film also introduces Rani Mukerjee as the other love interest of Shah Ruk Khan and with that sexy voice of hers she nearly made me drop my samosa! This film has to be seen!
