Period instruments and inspired playing add up to outstanding performances! Together with clear, clean accoustics this is a must have album. I have learned to expect the very best from Mullova, but the (to me)unknown Bezuidenhout is an equal partner. Unmissable for any Beethoven lover.

Loved this disk. Historically informed, but I think a more rich, sonorous tone than say Jaap Schröder, Jos Van Immerseel.

The playing is wonderfully assured and a real dialogue between lines. Nothing tentative, there is complete authority in the phrasing but never bombastic. Certainly not as lyrical in interpretation as Isabelle Faust, Alexander Melnkov on the 'Kreutzer'

Must be close to Beethoven's intent...as statement from the artists, *this* is how Beethoven should be performed, anyone disagrees we'll see you outside.
