I enjoyed this book. The plot was cohesive and credible. The characters realistic and mostly likeable. The descriptions were occasionally excellent. This book kept me reading into the night. Well done Douglas Preston, I shall read more of your books.

This is not the best story Douglas Preston has written. While each chapter is well-written, the story introduces an Artificial Personality which is capable of exploring the Internet as if it was a physical place populated with real persons. And one of the final actions the Artificial Personality takes is downright impossible. Don't set your hopes to high

Half way through the book now and I'm loving every minute.
I'm a big fan of Doug and his writing partner Lincoln Child and I haven't been disappointed once yet.
This one is Absolutely fascinating! How does he keep coming up with new ideas.
Keep up the good work.

Have not read this author before, but will read his work in future.
Not at all what I expected, lots of twists and turns. Just when you think it's all over something adds to the tension.
A must read book.

A good read so far, albeit rather predictable. I am 3/4 of the way through. I was disappointed there is no trip to Titan yet as that was my main interest in buying this, as I love astronomy, space etc.

I own and I've read all of Mr Preston's books, alone and combined. I actually pre-order them. But I must confess this book it's tired me out. I've almost haven't been able to finish it. It's more of the same but in a very bad way. The premiss is not so bad, I actually like it and could have been something good. But it really quickly goes all wrong. Too many little stories not actually that well connected or interesting. And the fact the all the books end up in the same way, with someone being followed by the bad guys, have to go through hell to survive and then stay alive only by mere inches... come on, we've read this so many times now... I'm sure you have much more inside you. After so many good books...
But the thing that most annoys me this time, it's the fact of using a child, disable child and putting him through all of that... not cool, Mr Preston, not cool. There wasn't any need of so much violence and so explicit and putting the child in the middle just put me off
The fact the we all now how the book is going to end (happy ever after... surprise!!!!) doesn't really help to keep reading a boring, unconnected and repeated story
You can do better and I'm looking forward to it

It was fine until Dorothy loaded herself into Charlie when it all went downhill (I hate spoilers so read the book) and as for the ending - well. I've read all the Preston| Child books but this is far from one of the best. Pity.
