Format: Audio CD
Some wonderful piano music throughout this 4 CD set. Of special interest is the Piano Sonata No.1 in D minor, composed in 1908/09. Korngold wrote this extraordinarily mature work when he was only 11 years old. Not bad for someone who had a few piano lessons when he was 5 years old. The finale of this 3 movement work is a remarkably assured passacaglia. No wonder it impressed the composer Gustav Mahler.

I've listened to many of these works while following the score and Martin Jones playing leaves little to be desired. Great sound too...
