Bought this memory as an upgrade for my late 2010 MacBook white Unibody (last model) and I have been amazed. Upgraded from 2GB to 8GB the upgrade took 5mins and it worked instantly. The results were amazing. Its almost as if it knows what I want to open before I click. Komputerbay have not let me down with the two sets of RAM I have purchased from them. Great buy and a must for anyone using speed sapping software (Photoshop/Pixelmator/iMovie etc...)

Not impressed.
When I opened the small plastic container holding the two memory sticks I was confronted with food crumbs presumably remnants of the packers lunch. After installing the memory everything seemed fine but them programs and games would not load or they crashed. Ran the Windows RAM checker and found that one of the memory sticks was full of errors. Ran another bootable RAM checker and got the same results. The stick which had the problem was the one with the cheap company label stuck on top of the memory stick. I doubt the packer was taking sufficient handling precautions especially if they were eating their lunch at the time!

On this evidence this outfit appears to be an amateur operation and I would not recommend them.

Smooooooooth running of Logic Pro with this memory. On some mastering tasks my Macbook Pro was running out of steam with 4gb of memory. This bargain upgrade (check out Apples ridiculous price for 8gb of ram) has made everything quicker and glitch free. 47 audio tracks now running simultaneously without a hitch. Totally recommended.

Upon researching I bought 8GB (2 x 4GB) of memory for my Apple Macbook (13-inch, Aluminium, Late 2008, Boot ROM Version:MB51.007D.B03)

Initially the 8GB were not recognised so I removed them and installed one of the 4GB and one of the original 1GB and turned the laptop on. It worked. I repeated this twice to make sure both 4GB cards were working. Satisfied they were both in working order I then reinstalled both 4GB cards and this time it worked perfectly!

It has only been a few days since installing but so far so good. I have had no issues and the laptop is working noticeably smoother and faster!

Bought for my Macbook Pro 15" from Late 2008, which had 2GB RAM in when bought.

I am a photographer and digital artist and use all the main image editors but my Macbook Pro was showing its age! I originally after 3 years, upgraded to 3GB RAM when I bought Aperture 3 cheap, off the App store and found it unbearable to use (as I've always found with Aperture). With 3GB it was still slow and annoying waiting for actions to work all the time and there were all the unexpected quits from kennel panics.

As I've been considering going Pro and realised I needed more of a reliable workflow, I started reading all these reviews on Max RAM for my Macbook Pro, and found they were saying that a firmware update meant I could now go to 8GB, even though it should have taken 4GB max (though some had had success with up to 6GB before this).

So I bought the 8GB and it works great! Definite improvement in Aperture 3, which was just hogging everything and fans running all the time! Photoshop CS5 runs super smooth and with no fans most of the time.

I can now multitask much better too between programs. I find the system does make good use of the 8GB as well for Photoshop and other image editors. E.g. right now i'm using Google Chrome (hogger of RAM when using multi tabs), Mail, and Aperture 3 and I have 3.5GB RAM free but that's with Aperture 3 in background doing nothing.

I'll just add that the RAM arrived quickly as well and was well packaged in a packet that fit through my letter box (no waiting in or collecting from post office when at work!). I would fully recommend this RAM, especially for this price! My Macbook, aside from now having a couple of dints in the top case, is good to go again for OS Lion and beyond!

I bought this RAM about 12 months ago and it's worked fine until a few days ago. My MacBook screen suddenly went black followed by a BEEP.... every 5 seconds. It turns out that this means the computer is sensing there is no RAM fitted. After a bit of troubleshooting I've isolated the problem to a single module of this RAM which has now permanatly failed.

On the RAM there is a label which says "Lifetime Warranty" and this is also stated in the Amazon item description. I've checked the Komputerbay website and there's little to no information regarding warranty. The company is also based in the USA, with no office in the UK from what I can tell. I've tried to contact the Komputerbay regarding the Lifetime Warranty but have not received a response.

Looking through the reviews I see there are a lot of people who have experienced similar problems with this RAM. I would recommend you avoid the Komputerbay and pay a little bit more for something reliable that comes with a genuine warranty.

I was sceptical that this would work in our brand new 27" i7 iMac given the price but it does and it works perfectly. 'About this Mac' reports 12 gig (4 +8). The only strange thing is that System Profiler reports the Manufacturer, part number and serial number as '0'.

Give this RAM a try.
