Bought for an upgrade/laptop repair; I normally use Kingston ram for builds and repairs in this case though the age of the laptop (an Acer Aspire 5050) meant cost was a factor. I have not used this maker before but the lifetime warranty appealed. The chips are manufactured by Qimonda, a now defunct company (though at the time a large organisation). No doubt their stock has been picked up and re-badged by this seller. I don't have any reasons to doubt the quality of the memory chips (German company with evidently at the time good quality control)

This machine was running 1GB memory and has been updated to Windows 10 32bit (the OS will run on that but really 2GB is comfortable - this isn't used for much bar emails and some web browsing). Installation went without issue and so far there are no problems to report. I can't comment for Apple use as this was a Windows machine, but any problems and I will update the review to reflect that. So far it's looking like a good deal for the memory size.

We are a Mac repair company and tried Komputerbay memory due the price. Plus is was geared as Mac specific. Sadly it's is not good at all. I'd say we had a return rate of about 20% initially, straight out of the box! But over the past couple of months, more has come back from customer upgrades as faulty. Fear we will be seeing more coming back too. Not reliable in the long term, let alone the ones with immediate failings. Stick to Crucial...

Bought 8GB as 2x4GB chips as I am short of cash and this was the cheapest DDR2 PC5300 RAM I could find, I was a bit nervous but the RAM arrived in reasonable time and has bedded in well. I can not identify the chips or the boards so this is truly generic RAM, the manufacturer does not even show up in CPU-Z :) However it passed every test I could run and I ran the full suite of Lenovo RAM tests on this memory.

I also ran speed tests on my old RAM before inserting the new chips and the results were identical for old and new so all in all I am very happy.

It's now a week later and I am running several Virtual Machines on my laptop and taking full advantage of the extra RAM, I am running VMware Server on a Windows 7 64 bit host and have a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM running at the same time as 2 Ubuntu VM installations and still have RAM to spare for the host operating system, so I am pretty sure that the full address space available is being well tested.

For background information I am a software developer, I've been in the industry for over 20 years, I would use these guys again.

I swapped my xbox1 for an 2007 imac 2GB 20" knowing that I was going to have to boost the RAM on the iMac. I have not had the extra RAM at a total of 4GB's and has made a clear and significant difference in the speed of the iMac. When once its took eons to boot up properly it now takes a minute or so and can be used even quicker if necessary, remembering this is a classic iMac from 2007.

On first installation however I got x2 panic-crashes and it also rebooted a few times in the space of an hour so I swapped the cards around and made sure they where in the base of the iMac. Its a balancing act between not as much pressure in inserting them to breaking them, they need to be in proper and housed well and since doing so no problems.

I now have an iMac on par with most modern laptops etc in terms of speed with 4GB and 2.4Ghz.

I even got the items delivered up in north of Scotland in about 18 hours from placing order, excellent product and service. Still nervous about getting and more panic-crashes ( when its beeps a lot x3 times ) though no problems in days since swapping the cards over and not 180o but from slot too slot in case you wondered lol....very happy.

Will post if it happens again this being 26/04/16.

I needed a low cost 2GB upgrade (from 1GB) for my slowly aging Samsung NC10 netbook. With it being over 7 years old, I certainly did not want to pay a high price. The 2G DDR2 667Mhz PC2-5300 SODIMM Memory by Komputerbay seemed to tick all the boxes for me.
It arrived in a clear no fuss packaging that was very easy to open. I grounded myself, opened my memory bay, removed my old 1GB memory. Then carefully clipped this new 2GB upgrade in, whilst being mindful not to handle it too much. Closed the memory bay back up. Switched my netbook back on....THAT WAS IT. I checked through the system (I use windows 7) settings that the 2GB was there.
I noticed a immediate difference in my netbook when going between web pages and using internet browsers. No more lag and having to close each tab down to open a new one.
So, if you are after low cost memory, you won't go wrong buying this brand. I'm no IT novice, but I'm definitely no expert either. I managed to install this very easily. Also, the fact this is covered by a lifetime warranty is reassuring. I recommend this brand.

The memory works great! I'm using it in my iMac 24" (late 2007) with Kingston memory (2GB, same specifications). Nowadays it's a bit hard to find 4Gb 667Mhz memory modules, so I was happy to find Komputerbay modules!
