This alone is the benefit of a waterproof camera - you can throw it about on sand, sea or by the poolside, and you can be safe in the knowledge that it won't fizzle and 'konk out'. For less than a tenner, thats a nice compromise for the sake of not seeing the snaps you've just shot on a screen! Besides, the classic surprise is sometimes nice after they're developed.
As for the camera's performance, results vary depending on your environment. We may, for example, acknowledge that poolside shots (under the sun) offer pleasing exposures with bright and, often, realistic colours, and detail being on par with any other big-brand disposable, in my opinion. The caveat however is when you take the camera underwater, and the contrast can suffer greatly when their is not enough light breaking into the water. Comparing the pool to the sea, it came as no surprise that blue and white tiles of our pool brightened up various images, but the inconsistent light source in the sea, sadly, affected many of my shots.
Its not entirely bad news however since the quality of the exposure is dependent on how still you manage to hold the camera. Snaps before the waves came in (and where I was closest to the surface) came out marvelous as I held the camera as stiff as I could, but any kind of shake or constant movement ruined shots.Read more ›

Photos blurry and all a funny colour. Jessops say they've only seen that once before with a dud camera. Irreplaceable family holiday photos, so upset and disappointed. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Me, here.
