This is the second single released following the release of Radiohead's latest album, Amnesiac. "Knives Out" was played rather heavily during the Radiohead concerts during the run-up to the release of Amnesiac, but what came out on the album was a soft, mellow and an absolutely great song - something the fans didn't expect. The other thing about Radiohead singles is, their magnificent B-Sides. This one is no exception, the songs "fog" (originally named "Alligators In The New York Sewers"), "Cuttooth", "Worrywort", and the extended version of "Life In A Glass House" (also on the album) live up to the reputation of those before them, drawing comparisons with their earlier great B-Sides like Polyethelene, Talk Show Host, and Bishops Robes. The song "cuttooth" from this single was supposed to be in the the album Amnesiac, but was replaced by "Hunting Bears" to keep the album's delicate balance. But none the less, another good B-Side joins the ranks of those before it (Great B- Sides which are arguably better than some songs in the album). Another great decision by Nigel Godrich. This single is a collector's item!!!

This album is fantastic! Not only is Knives Out one of Radiohead's best songs, but the b-sides are easily some of the most beautiful songs of theirs to date! Cuttooth is a very catchy, guitar oriented song that sounds like it was from the Bends or OK Computer. There's a great chorus and its quite easy to sing to. As a matter of fact, I'm suprised they didn't pick THIS song to be a single. Worrywort is a completely electronic song. Thom's vocals are exceptionally good this time, and he gives us beautiful harmonies in the background. Very spacey synths. Fog (AKA Alligators in New York Sewers) is a hybrid of synths and guitars. Thom sings wonderfully. The band plays wonderfully. This is a wonderful song. I usually close my eyes when I listen to it, it gives a feeling of euphoria. But don't get the idea that it's spacey, cos there's a very distinct rhythm. This song also welcomes the return of distorted guitar by Johnny, which is very good. The last track is the same as the album track, but it has extended soloing in the beginning. I was disappointed, but I still think the song ROCKS! In conclusion, BUY THIS ALBUM!

The Knives Out single is arguably the best single on Radiohead's latest album, Amnesiac. The song "Knives Out" itself is a great song on it's own, but the beautiful B-sides make the single all the more a worth while buy. Knives out probably is the only clue whether Radiohead will return to their more "guitar-oriented" past which saw the release of "The Bends" in 1995. "The song "Fog", which was formerly known as "Alligators in the New York sewers", was played in concerts by Thom Yorke with the piano which saw minimal involvement by the rest of the band. But on the Single, the whole band plays the song together which results magnificently. Another B-side on this single is the extended version of Life In A Glass House - The Kind of song which is so superb, it sends a shiver down your spine. Also on the single is Worrywort and Cuttooth. Worrywort is more of a mellow song while Cuttooth, is an absolutely brilliant song, which almost made the album, Amnesiac but was cruelly replaced by the (some would say) fairly normal Hunting Bears. All in all, a great single which is most definitely worth the buy. A must have!

Out of all the singles I have bought by Radiohead this is the most impressive in terms of the single and b-sides. Cuttooth is a very great song, which was actually set for inclusion on recent album Amnesiac until for some reason the inferior guitar arsery of Hunting Bears replaced it. I would argue with anyone that this song would have made a great a-side in itself though ultimately and tragically the song has been relegated to b-side status.
The other b-side song of note out of the 4 tracks on offer is Fog once known as Alligators In New York's Sewers and it is great with a tambourine that sounds menacing. The single itself is of course the much-touted Smithesque song and has more guitars on it than any one song of theirs for the last 3 years. Worth investigation for certain.
