Clear instructions, with lots of interesting stitch variations. Colour photographs throughout and there are both written and graph instructions to follow. There's a small section on designing your own garments, and though this is brief it gives the principles. I would say that I'm a beginner really, and this section is still a little beyond me anyway but should be helpful. More helpful for me is the comprehensive stitch key (to decipher the graphs) and the technique section, which both hold a lot of information. My only wish for this book is that it would be spiral bound, as it would be easier to lay out and follow (and flick between the technique/keys and the patterns) (and because I hate breaking the backs of books!!) But that's not enough to knock a star off. Definitely a good buy and would recommend to all

so glad I bought this book! As an experienced knitter I am always looking to expand my knitting library. This has a lovely selection of stitches I haven't found elsewhere,. The cables section is particularly good. There's a good amount of stitches and all in all a really good book!

Great book! Some really nice stitch patterns and I like that some are marked as reversible (with both sides pictured) and others are marked as 'easy'. While designing for beginners this is especially helpful (and a better indicator than what I may consider is an easy pattern, and others may not).

I originally bought the kindle edition which is good as I can have it with me all the time for reference, but for designing I've also had to get the paperback (meaning I've spent quite a lot on it in) as it wasn't terribly easy to work from the ebook - I like to be able to flick back and forth easily. There are links to the charts (which didn't work on my iPad but did from the kindle app on my laptop) and while this is a great addition, it's necessary to wade through all the charts from the given section, rather than jumping to the one you want, which is time consuming.

Overall, great content ...but could be more usefully presented.

A very useful book, well laid out but you still do not get ALL the stitch patterns you want in one book. I wish this was volume 1 and there was a second volume to follow.

Clear and consice instructions for so many stitches, a bit difficult to find a precise stitch. It will get well used!
