As I rated Ms Butler's Thin Love as a 5* read, I was really excited to get this book to review; and delighted that it was the first of a new series.
The book is told with flashbacks, which add an immediacy and a depth to what is unfolding in the present day. They clarify where the music started, and the relationship between Jamie and Iris. That reasons that things went so wrong, and the impact of Iris's mother's revelations, are quite shocking. I had to stop reading at points because it was too intense, and I was worried about just how the story was going to turn next. There are some wonderful details in the writing, which engage the reader and draw them into the story even more. For example - I loved the changing use of terms of affection, which we soon learned meant a lot, or a little.
The Rock Star issues are unexpected, but rather clever. I am also guessing many other book bands will be jealous of the comfortable bus and regular hotel stays!
There are a number of fascinating plots interlinking and still in need of resolution, so I am definitely looking forward to "Beg".

I love books with dual points of view, Kneel is mostly told from Iris' point of view, but towards the end we do get to hear from Jamie too. This book is a story of dreams, young love and what some people will do to make things happen even if it means hurting themselves. Seriously, sitting here like, 'Wow!' This book brings back a lot of memories of those feelings of first love. Eden really has tapped into something beautiful with these two characters when we are in the past scenes. I love how both Iris and Jamie have grown since their younger selves. I want to say I could be that selfless, but I don't think I could. Not now and especially not then when these two were younger.
The story has a beautiful pace. Set in the now and when Iris and Jamie were teenagers. It really drags you in. At first there are things you will wonder, but all does come to light as the book builds to that crescendo. Is there a cliffhanger? Yes kind of. There certainly is that 'wtf' moment and you wonder what will happen next. But, my need for Beg comes more from being so tied up in Iris and Jamie's story throughout today that I don't want to leave them yet, I'm not ready to let go. Bad for books I read straight after as my mind will be on these two for a while.
Did I like Kneel? No I loved this book. I cannot wait to read what happens next and do hope the wait isn't too long. A kindle unlimited gem here, if you are subscribed take the time to read this one. I don't think you'll be disappointed especially if you like a new adult romance with a strong female and male lead. 4.5 stars!
Hats off to Eden for a phenomenal story, and in my opinion; her best work to date! This author has certainly given her all to this story, and as far as I am concerned, the 5 star rating is just does not give this novel the justice it deserves. A big whopping 10 would be better! I highly recommend this authors’ work for all lovers of second chance love stories, and cannot wait to read the next book in this series! Truly brilliant Eden!!
I voluntarily reviewed and advanced copy of this book!
Jamie and Iris had been extra close best friends so it was only natural they soon become lovers. But that love became obsessional and something had to give before dreams became destroyed. Only thing was the trigger left a huge gaping hole in both their hearts. Time doesn’t appear to have healed either of them when they come face to face again a decade later.
The story was told in flashbacks to the past which it took me a while to get my head around to what had happened but once I did I became engrossed in this messed up but erotic AF second chance, friends to lovers, rocker romance (all three fabulous genres in one book!)
I loved Jamie but despised his alto ego Dash but I was rooting for Iris throughout. Be warned the book does end on a massive cliff hanger and I have no idea at this point how Jamie is going to redeem himself. Four stars.
