HASH(0x8ef11bc4) out of 5 stars I will never use another brand of bandages again! 22 Oct. 2011
By Ali Julia - Published on Amazon.com
Size: 8 each
Nexcare bandages are excellent. I did not realize there can be a better or worse bandage until I tried Nexcare bandage. The old bandages I have used for ever would leave gook (especially if I got them wet) after I removed them. I thought that was normal, just part of using a bandage. But this never happens with Nexcare bandages!

1. It adheres perfectly and strongly, yet when you remove there is never any residue left no matter whether you attached it to the skin or to the nail.
2. The material is pliable and adheres well to any curved surface. It never falls off.
3. It is easy to remove
4. It stays on even if you wet it
5. Material is pleasant to touch
6. If the bandage adheres to some hairs it does not seem to sting as much as when you remove it as the other bandages.

This package contains a total of 8 bandages as indicated on the package image and product title. These larger bandages are a bit more expensive than the smaller ones, but they are high quality and stay on until you take them off. Because they are waterproof I found I can wear them for several days even through taking a shower.

I highly recommend this product. I will never use another brand of bandages again!

HASH(0x8edaf294) out of 5 stars great for keeping water out! 14 Aug. 2013
By ska - Published on Amazon.com
Size: 8 each
When I cut my leg and couldn't continue with my swim exercise program, I was told there were band aids that were large enough to cover the cut and seal it so the water would not get to the cut. I bought these and they definitely do what they claim to do!! I was able to continue my swimming with not problems what so ever.

HASH(0x8ecf5e7c) out of 5 stars Finally I can get these large Nexcare bandages! 6 Sept. 2014
By S. Cline - Published on Amazon.com

I haven't seen this size of Nexcare waterproof bandages in stores in years, so I was very happy to find them here on Amazon. I don't often need this large size, but when I do, I've been forced to cut adhesive off in places on the largest size available of the three size package in order to make a large bandage. Now I don't have to do that ever again!

I've loved the Nexcare bandages since I first tried them many (Ten? More?) years ago. I have fair skin that turns red and stays red for weeks after I injure (cut, scratch, burn) myself, even after it heals. If I get antibiotic ointment and a Nexcare bandage on it within 24-36 hours, not only does it heal faster, but the redness disappears quickly too. I originally purchased them because most of my injuries are on my hands and I really needed a waterproof bandage that worked and Nexcare did, and continues to do, the job extremely well. As long as I can get Nexcare waterproof bandages, they'll be the only ones I buy.

A few things that though they are numbered, are in no particular order, and that you may find helpful (admittedly, one or more may be obvious) when using these and the other, smaller, Nexcare bandages:

1. When applied to skin that is visibly dry (and sometimes not quite visibly) the bandage may not stick well. Apply a light moisturizer (I personally use Curel, because years ago it was the only lotion that I could get fragrance free and it absorbs quickly if you don't use too much) then clean the area to remove any excess before applying a fresh bandage. Personally, I would advise against using Vaseline, or anything containing petroleum jelly, or petrolatum, as these can leave a residue that's difficult to remove.

2. When applied to an area that is covered in hair, the bandages _may_ not adhere until the hair is removed. Even then, the skin underneath will need to be cleaned again, and if necessary moisturized, before the bandage will stick properly.

3. As at least one other reviewer had said, you can leave them on for 24 hours. I usually leave them on 20-24 before removing them, cleansing the area, and reapplying the ointment and bandage. Sometimes I will let them dry/air out for an hour or two before reapplication.

4. When applying a bandage to a curved area (I'm primarily referring to the smaller Nexcare bandages) such as the fingers or certain parts of the face, you can make one or more small cuts on the sticky part of the bandage (that don't go past the adhesive into the clear plastic non-stick part that surrounds the actual bandage. Cutting past the adhesive can result in the bandage no longer being waterproof) while the bandage is on the backing paper in order to make it fit better. The place(s) that are cut can then be overlapped or otherwise adjusted to fit better and still be waterproof. It's likely only trial and error will help you learn the best way(s) to do this.

5. You can trim off the edge (again, doing so while the bandage is on the paper) off the adhesive part to make it fit better in a tight place, but be careful you don't cut off so much of the adhesive that it will no longer stick.

6. When applying antibiotic ointment or cream, consider using a Q-tip or cotton swab (the latter is the non-brand name of the former) to apply it to the wound in cases where the bandage only barely covers the injury, and then, if necessary use the end that doesn't have ointment or cream on it to wipe away any that managed to spread out. This keeps it from leaking onto the adhesive part of the bandage where it will interfere with how well it sticks.

That's all I can think to say about the bandages at this time. If I get around to doing a review for the three different sizes box that I bought at the same time that I bought these, I will probably copy a lot of this review. :-)

I haven't used these yet, but I love Nexcare. regular bandages give me a rash from the adhesive. clear type bandages are the only ones that don't irritate my skin.

I got these for my 90 year old father in law as he sometimes bumps himself and likes large bandages that he can wear even in the shower.
