Replace your bulky kitchen appliances with this compact and versatile 5-cup manual food processor. It chops, slices, dices, spins, and mixes just about everything--all for an incredible price. Chop all your ingredients in one step using the tri-blade. Fit the blade in the bowl, fill the bowl with ingredients, and lock the lid into place. To turn the blade, spin the angled handle. In about 10 to 12 spins, you can dice onions, tomatoes, and peppers, for fresh salsa--even make egg salad, tuna salad, and more. Slice. Switch between a built-in mandolin and julienne slicer using the revolutionary mandolin lid. There are no sharp blades to change or store. Just lock the lid on top of the unit and choose your setting. The food goes right into the bowl--no cutting board or counter top to clean. Thin slice cucumbers, radishes, and other salad or casserole ingredients; medium slice lemons and garnishes; and thick slice tomatoes. Every piece is uniform for even cooking and professional-looking presentation. Use the julienne setting for grating carrots or making perfect fries. The included hand guard helps protect your fingers. Spin. Place the salad spinner in the bowl. Add lettuce, herbs, or berries, then lock the lid into place. As you turn the handle, the spinner draws water out toward the sides of the bowl. Mix. Combine pancake and waffle batter to the right consistency. You can even use the built-in egg separator to whip up a healthy egg-white omelet. It's also great for dips and sauces. Use the included spoonula for tasting, scraping, and serving. You can also prep your food the night before. Fit the bowls with the storage lids, and stow them in the fridge for use the next day. The unit is compact enough to use at home, in your RV, or on your boat. The nonslip suction-cup base keeps it secure. Prep, store, and serve your favorite dishes this season and all year round. First run, I was making a bolognese sauce and wanted finely chopped carrot. WOW!!! This thing tore it down super fast, and so easily too! The tri blades are razor sharp people! Be VERY careful when handling them while washing up. I sliced myself pretty good, and didn't even know it until I saw the blood dripping from my left index finger. Ouch! All fixed up, no stitches, no problem. I should have known better, right? Derp!
So, anyway, I have used it a lot since I got it. I have used all of it's features, and found it to be exactly as described. Sure, the mandolin with it's 3 thickness settings might not be as versatile for the more discerning types, but it gets my jobs done. I can't say too much about the beater for heavy cake mixes either as I've only made batter in it so far. But I'm pretty sure it'll handle most things. You just need common sense, and realistic expectations. You're not going to whip out a 10 pound christmas cake with this, get real!
I like how simple, and easy it is to use, and how I don't need a big clunky electric food processor in the confines of my spacially challenged kitchen. For me, this thing is ideal so long as I don't chop my fingers again! ;-)
This processor on the other hand doesn't use electricity and you turn the handle by hand, so can be used anywhere, even taken on holiday with you and everything fits together easily and comes apart just as easily to be put in the dishwasher, so no trouble cleaning it after use.
It's done everything i've asked of it, including chopping nuts, grating carrots, slicing cucumbers and whipping up cream. Would recommend.
It's all made of plastic barring the slicer, but the plastic blades have cut up everything I've put into the bowl.
The bowl locks into the base securely which has suckers on the bottom for additional traction.
The more you turn the handle, the finer the pieces are cut and they are cut quickly.
The slicer clips onto the top of the bowl and has a really useful safety feature which covers the blade edge with a twist of a side control. Another control on the slicing lid moves another set of blades up from the lid to score whatever is being sliced and therefore slicing it into strips.
there's also a salad mixer and egg separator functions.
The slicer cut vegetables quite thin, even at it's thickest setting. There is a spiked handle for holding vegetables while keeping fingers out of the way of the blades, but it didn't do the job very well, losing it's grip constantly. It doesn't slide across the slicer lid very well.
All together though, this is a neat kitchen gadget that allows you to safely cut and slice vegetables with not much danger of harming yourself.
Should anything ever happen to my Kitchen King Pro, I will replace it with the same, I cannot find fault with it. It is an excellent product and gets a 5 star rating!!
