I can't wait to get in the ground now that I have this book. This is probably the sixth book I've purchased on kitchen gardening, and it is far and away the most helpful. I particularly liked the projects, the fact that it includes both fruits and vegetables, and that it has co-located everything from sowing to storage for each variety of edible in the book.

I am going to be starting a kitchen garden for the first time ever. I'm a perennials person. While I'm comfortable with digging, planting, dividing, and pruning, I was intimidated at the prospect of starting a garden from scratch - even after reading several other books. No more!

I really like this book and I don't think its only for beginners. It goes through all types of information from the specific of each vegetable/fruit group to different methods of planting to positioning of your garden to composting, etc. I like a gardening book with depiction and this one has done a nice job of presenting many nice how-to-do pictures. All together, I think its one of the best out there. Simple, well-presented and informative.

I really appreciate the DK publishing company's approach to book publishing. Their books are of very good quality, well illustrated or photographed, very informative, useful information. This book is another example of that quality and the author covers the subject expertly. Very pleased with the quality of this book, both in the material the author created and the way DK published it.
