Product description

Review

It's rare to find a book that really tells it like it is for men and women struggling with the rigours of looking after a young family. But this is it! The story of how a husband delivered his baby on the kitchen floor, with his four other kids around him waving toys in his face as he battled to save the baby's life and comfort his wife, is mind-blowing. But more than the retelling of terrifyingly dramatic events, this book is also a great leveller and soother for all those who have endured the deep exhaustion, stress and relationship cracks which so often accompany the birth of a baby. Author Angus has a warm, natural story-telling tone. Reading his book feels as if he's in the corner of the room chatting through his experience. And although the deep love for his family shines through, he paints no gloss on the realities of juggling a family along with a demanding job, money worries and post-natal illness. If you think you had it tough raising your family, this book reassures you that you're not alone. If you constantly feel guilty about not being a good enough parent, this book helps ease your conscience (Angus says it's OK to give your kids chicken nuggets once in a while - is there another book on raising a family which is so refreshingly honest?) And if you've ever looked at your other half when you're dizzy with extreme exhaustion caused by constant night feeds and school runs and asked: "Do I even like my husband/wife?", this book explains that most parents feel the same. At last a book that shares a sensitive man's true perspective on the birth experience, details the pain of dealing with a partner's post natal mental issues and gives parents a break. Buy it! --Journalist for the Daily Mirror

A startingly honest account about childbirth and family life from a mail perspective --The Sun Newspaper

The book flows very well and Kennedy is obviously a talented writer. He has a very natural and entertaining style. Angus does have a tendency to go off subject occasionally, but it does not harm the book and he is a good writer and the book works. It is entertaining and informative. I really enjoyed it and I recommend it for both sexes, whether they are parents or not. --Catherine Blalavage - Editor Frostmagazine.co.uk --Catherine Blalavage - Editor Frostmagazine.co.uk A startingly honest account about childbirth and family life from a mail perspective --The Sun Newspaper The book flows very well and Kennedy is obviously a talented writer.
