For some reason using the dock makes my speakers emit a low level hum if the Note is removed, unplugging the speakers from the dock sort out this problem – but what is the point of the dock if you have to do this every morning?
On occasion the charger does not work or is incredibly slow to charge, overnight only charging by 70%- to 80%– I have swapped the changing cable and plug, and on their own there is no problem, only when the charger is connected to the dock is there an issue. Worse still the intermittent charge causes the phone to beep on and off repeatedly in the middle of the night at random.
You also have to remove any case you have protecting your phone to use the dock. I have the lightest and thinnest case available for the Note at about 2mm thick and even this has to be removed to fit the dock
Overall a poor bit of kit that has been replaced by leaning the phone against a triangle shaped piece of wood!
The other area that could be improved concerns the fact that while the candy will allow you to use the USB port for audio output, you can not do this and use the port for data simultaneously. In fact you have to physically remove the audio lead to allow the device to attach for data transfer. Obviously the limitations of the connecting device aren't down to the makers of the candy, but a simple switch allowing the port's mode to be altered would have been a much better solution than having to keep pulling leads in and out.
I would have given it 5 starts but the headphone jack for audio at the back in not great - I've tried to use it with my headphones but the sound is really tinny. I've not tried it with proper speakers so it might work better with them.
