Product Description

The small but mighty DataTraveler Micro is one of the world's smallest USB Flash drives. Mobile devices by nature need to be small and lightweight, which means that many of them come with limited storage. DataTraveler Micro lets you easily add up to (16GB) of extra storage to your tablet PC, slim notebook, car audio and more without increasing the size of its footprint. DataTraveler Micro is designed in an ultra-small form factor that can be left in the device while you're on the move.

The price of USB drives keeps dropping to the point where they can almost be considered disposable. They haven't quite reached that point yet but somebody needs to tell the designer of this drive that.

The good: It's absolutely tiny and adorable. I bought the 8GB model and you can blow less-techy peoples minds when you show it to them and tell them it contains several HD movies. (microsd is still the best for this)

The average: Write speeds never go above 2.8MB/s which is painfully slow when you try to use the 8GB capacity.

The bad: The cap is very tight fitting and as a result when you remove it it pulls the plug part-way out of the housing. It feels like it will completely fall apart after a couple more weeks of use.

For the same money you can get other drives of the same capacity, similar size but better design.

Great price on a trusted make. No problems at all using these (I have 3) on Windows or Linux. Great in the car; 8 megs of music ready to go anywhere. I ran a live Linux distro off one of these for weeks before installing it - you barely notice the bump on the side of your PC.

There's no doubt, this looks cool because it's so small. Feels well built and no problems with any pc's I tried it with. The lid stays on well but pity it's not connected all the time.

But, it absolutely needs some way of attaching it to a key ring. There is a little hole in body and I've seen library pictures with a very thin but strong 'string' loop. I've no idea where I'll find something suitable. This loop is really essential (for me anyway) because I now feel I've got a cool memory stick but I'm going to lose it!

Just what I wanted. A very small USB stick to use with my Joggler. Even smaller than a 2p piece.
