I bought the 8g version of this item a few months back and found it fantastic for holding photo and music info so I could transfer between computers.

I needed a higher capacity memory stick to push into my new Sony HD-TV which I wanted to carry all my photo images for the past 30 years!!! I looked around and for ease of use the 16g verion of this stick just fitted the bill without question. The stick is black in colour and this was important as I did not want it to show sticking out from the USB2 port on the side of the TV.

I purchased and am using the item now. Its just fantastic, the end of the USB adaptor slides in and out and has a click link to retain either in or out and has not given any problems/issues. Transfer of data is a doddle via 'drag and drop' optimisation. No problems what-so-ever, I would highly recommend this item to anyone....and the price is great too.!!!

I did some research on flash drives before making this purchase and i am pleased to say that this drive perfoms just as you would want.
Reasonably fast data transfer
A concealed USB connector with no cap to get lost
No problems what-so-ever, at the moment i would highly recommend this item.

This an update some 11 months later.....
This drive failed on me, so under the terms of the warranty i returned (via recorded delivery) the device back to the seller.
Foolishly on my part i did expect a return of post new product back.
In my opinion amazon prides itself on allowing 3rd party sellers to deal on their site and deliver the service you would
also expect to receive from amazon itself.
However this has Not been the case with this company selling this flash drive.
I would like to say that if you don't mind hounding these people for your product (which seems to be the case for alot)
and you are willing to wait long periods of time for items you have paid for all well and good.
But if you,like me, want good service with delivery times stated by this company adhered to then AVOID this company.
IN MY EXPERIENCE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDS DELIVERY IS A DISGRACE.
Ofcourse this is only my review and at this moment i am still waiting for this drive to come back to me.

You pays your money and takes your choice !!!!!

Good quality memory stick

Decided on Kingston as it is a good quality brand.

The capless, retractable design is perfect, the slider is suitably tactile and easy to use without being too loose, plus there is no cap to leave behind somewhere.

Bought this for around £24 back in 2009, it lasted a solid 4 years before I brutally (accidentally) snapped it whilst plugged in to my laptop.

If you are looking for a memory stick this is probably a bit old, but the Kingston brand remains strong, so have a look at their latest line up on their website, then search it on here. Also consider buying a usb 3.0 speed memory stick, if you have or are planning to buy a new computer/laptop it will likely come with a bright blue usb 3.0 port. This upgrade from the standard usb 2.0 works at faster speeds so if you have a usb 3.0 stick you'll be able to transfer data faster, particularly helpful for large data transfers.

I don't need this for much, just some very small files to back up some information on my PC. Loads of capacity for a small price. The key thing for me is that the device had to be "slide and hide" - I fell in love with the concept after I bought an mp3 player with the same design, but I agree with other reviewers; although it sort of "clicks" into position it's very easy to shift - too easy. There should be a "lock" button, not a difficult addition.

As other reviewers have commented, the colour makes it difficult to spot. On the other hand, it is discreet. It remains to be seen whether the sleeve (as opposed to a cap) will permit the ingress of dirt and whether this would cause problems anyway. It should go without saying that the contents of the drive should be backed up elsewhere, in the event that it should go astray. This is more a note to self: I'm finding myself becoming complacent.

Great storage for the price. Tough little thing, doesn't seem to mind getting chucked around in my bag. The speed of transfer is OK, My brother's 50 minute wedding video took about four minutes to copy from my laptop to the drive, but that's just par for the course with larger files.

This would be great for office workers who have to transfer data or students, as an easy, portable drive to carry large files around.

Great product!! Looked at the SanDisk Cruzer of same capacity and decided to get this one. Do not regret it at all! Fast read and write speed after a while it did peak and stay at about 9Mb/s however this does depend on you computer. Im sure it can reach a higher speed. It is light and the slide button takes just a few uses to get used to. Feels a little plasticy but still solid, i think thats normal. Recommended for good quality and speed!!

Edit: Its been a while since i bought this item and have never witnessed such speeds as above again, it is incredibly slow at times, and if you dont mind that then its ok. But be warned, i've read a bunch of reviews, im telling you here, it CAN be very slow!! by that i mean 1 mb/sec or lower.
