I bought a new Samsung Samsung N220 10.1 inch Netbook (Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz, RAM 1GB, HDD 250GB, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Windows 7 Starter) - Green N220 and was encouraged to buy this item too, "To speed up and increase the performance of your netbook"
The net book was working fine without it, streaming TV and video, and using social networks and everything else I needed it for
But I bought in to the hype and bought this extra 2Gig of RAM

This is totally unnecessary, The only thing I noticed was that the net book got VERY VERY HOT especially around the new RAM

I did not notice any real improvement in the viewing and to be honest I was so worried about how hot it was getting I took it out and re installed the original 1GIG of RAM, The net book is still working fine and its running much cooler, if you have just bought a new net book like I have, leave it alone

If this was needed the manufacturer would have installed it

It is completely unnecessary to install this in the Samsung N220, save your money for online subscriptions

Finally received this today and slot it in onto Samsung N210 netbook, and immediately noticed the difference! Much faster start up (even after I have disabled the starter programmes that I don't need, 1GB that it came with the netbook just not enough). Its so easy to slot in and am very happy now.

The only real let down is speed of amazon delivery, it's 2nd time in this same month I have to wait for 2 weeks to get 1 item and I had paid for expedited delivery as well, I found it very poor service. I hope it won't be an on going delivery issue with Amazon, as 2 weeks is too long when item is in stock and for paid fast delivery. Sorry, its a let down for a good product.

Bought this for ASUS 1000HE netbook. Cannot give a before and after account because I upgraded before using the netbook.

The instructions that come with it are a series of simplistic diagrams that are open to interpretation. As quite a few people have experienced difficulties, it is definitely worth checking on internet / Youtube for installation advice. Main issues are control of static and the correct angle of insertion. Also read the netbook manual re BIOS tweaks before and after installation. Works well.

Being a bit of a techodisaster area (electrical products tend to die when they come into contact with me), I was a little concerned about having to put this into my nice new ASUS 904, which I have grown quite attatched to.

I opened the case (after making very sure that the battery was removed), slid the card in, and... nothing.

After a lot of cursing, praying and sweating, I then pushed the card further in. This time it half worked - the system booted up, but the touchpad and mouse refused to do anything. Eventually I had to do a system restore, and the Asus is now working perfectly - and at a lot faster speed too! Well worth the price, and seriously recommended as a very cheap way to beef up your 904's performance.

If I can do it, believe me - you can too!

I got this to upgrade my samsung netbook. It took me about a minute even with my sausage fingers and worked perfectly straight away.
Worth every penny. Good job Kingston.

Update 3 and a half years later!
Finally parted with the Samsung in favour of a tablet. The Sam and the RAM chip I fitted still worked perfectly and the extra RAM made a real difference in performance compared to other people's similar machines.
When I bought the chip it was about 15 quid and I sold the original for 10!
In the end I sold the netbook for about half what I paid for it, on the strength of it's improved performance. Not bad after 43 months of heavy use all over the world.

I bought this to replace a 1GB stick in my Asus eeePC 1000H. The item was as described in sealed pack, complete with Kingston's standard lifetime guarantee. Installation took a few minutes -- it can't be easier really -- and improved responsiveness and applications loading significantly (running Ubuntu), particularly when running Windows XP in VM. There are several installation guides on the net. It is a good idea to remove the battery of a laptop first. It may be necessary to go into the BIOS setup after installation to make sure it sees the extra RAM. Depending on the system, this usually involves pressing a key as the PC starts. The key is typically displayed on screen.

Make sure you get the right RAM chip for your netbook:
1. do not rely on Amazon listings!
2. open panel on back - one screw
3. carefully take out your chip and look at it
4. Google pictures of RAM chips for the make and model you have until you find an exact match
5. pay particular attention to where the notch comes along the long edge with all the copper contacts
6. if the notch is about 1/4 of the way along you need DDR2
7. if the notch is about 1/3 of the way along you need DDR3

My Asus EEE PC Netbook P10** needed DDR3 not DDR2

I bought this when I bought a Samsung N220plus and it was a doddle to fit, unscrewed the panel on the bottom flicked the old one out and slipped this one in and it took me less than 2 mins. I did use the netbook when the old one was still in it and when this one was added it did double the RAM (as it would being that its a 2GB) The seller sent this very quickly and it was well packed, would definitely deal with them again. I did try to find it elsewhere and I couldn't find it anywhere else cheaper than this. 10/10
