King of Shaves is delighted to introduce genuine innovation and choice with Hyperglide, our "revolubetionary" new system razor
Hyperglide features a unique patented superhydrophilic self-lubricating cartridge that creates its own slippery HydroGel over the entire front shaving surface when it comes into contact with water, delivering amazing shave glide, comfort and closeness.
Now you can "just add water" for incredible all-over glide and for enhanced shave comfort and to extend the cartridge life even further we recommend King of Shaves Shaving Oils, Gels and Serums are used in partnership with Hyperglide.
We believe this is truly the "King of Blades" so change up to the new King of Shaves Hyperglide and enjoy "The World's Best Shave!"
For best results use as part of the King of Shaves PSP™ (Prime, Shave, Protect) regime.
Prime: To help prepare and soften your stubble, shave during / after warm bath or shower. Cleanse face first with a quality Face Wash or Scrub.
Shave: Ideally use with a King of Shaves Shave Gel, Oil or Serum for a super smooth, rash-free shave. Massage into wet beard. It is important you activate Hyperglide's lubricating hydrogel by thoroughly saturating or immersing the cartridge in water for 15-20 seconds prior to shaving. Then, ensuring you have a clean sharp blade, shave carefully in the direction of hair growth. Take extra care around the sensitive neck area. For optimum glide, rinse blades and cartridge frequently in water during use.
Protect: After shaving, thoroughly rinse off, pat dry and protect skin with a King of Shaves Balm or Moisturiser.
Care: For optimum blade life, after use shake off excess water and allow cartridge to air dry naturally before storing (ideally using the sucker or handle holder that came with your Hyperglide razor). When transporting your Hyperglide razor, insert head into handle holder to help protect the precision blades from damage.

So the first blade was sublime. An easy smooth shave and I could not believe how smooth it was. Wetting the razor was enough to lubricate my face well and I think I got about 10-12 shaves out of it in a 2.5 week period.
Blade two was good for 2 shaves and then hurt and tugged at the hair rather than cutting. I thought it might have been damaged (but it had the protector on it), it was slightly better if I used shaving gel, but I had to throw it out half way through shave 4 as I did not have any local anaesthetist to numb the pain.
Blade 3 hurt and pulled right from the start, so I gave up half way through shave 1.
Blade 4 is still sitting in the cupboard. I might pull it out to have a go. It is a shame, if it had been a good consistent shave I would have shelled out the money, as I have been a very loyal King of Shaves customer since they introduced the Azor.
I have tried these for a while now and have come to the conclusion that the 'self-lubricating' feature is a bit of a.gimmick, and the size of the cartridges means the cutting area is actually pretty small. I've moved on the KOS Azor 4-blade system and find that suits my face much better
I bought this razor after the glowing reviews and the best buy recommendation from a popular men’s mag but no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get this razor to feel anything like my 15 year old Gillette mach 3 handle and blades…
I tried using the razor with water and every product under the sun (gel, foam, oil, cream, soap) and it made no difference, every stroke of the razor literally ripped the hairs out of my skin. I resorted to using an electric beard trimmer to trim the hairs down and then shave, this was a little better but less than ideal with each shave turning into a 20 minute affair. The one positive is that if you do persevere with the razor the end result is a close shave if you can take the pain…
I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve either got different skin, a different technique or a different razor than anyone who rated this 5 stars… The alternative is that the razor is actually pants…
My experience was so bad that I’ve now got PTSD and have reverted to using my wife’s Wilkinson sword lady shave whilst a set of replacement mach 3 blades arrive…
With this shaver all you need is water. I was a bit dubious at first but it really does glide over your face. I use it with shaving oil and it gives an even better shave and it ensures the blades last longer.
Can't yet comment on the longevity of the blades as I'm still on the first set. However, this product gets the job done, is British, and seems to be from a company that has a better ethical record than the vast majority in the cosmetics industry.
Having shaved with it now for a few days, results are varied. I currently use a shaving brush and the Menu shave cream and the Gillette Fusion Pro-glide. That has always given me a very good, close shave without pressing too hard and causing skin irritation.
With the KoS razor, I just can't seem to get the technique / pressure right. I either get a ridiculously close shave, or patches of stubble left on my face. I am just not convinced that when they designed it, turning the blade pivot point upside down was the right move - I haven't heard anyone ever complain about general razor design so frankly, sales gimmick aside, I don't see why they changed it.
For me, it was an interesting experiment and the product looks nice, but sadly (as they are hellishly expensive) I will be returning to the Gillette razor when this blade goes blunt.

I was taken in by the product description and was expecting less mess without shaving cream gunking up the blades. "Hyperglide" seems to be an ironic joke. Read morePublished 17 days ago by Nick

No better than azure 4 , self lubricating strip waste of time only lasted 6 shaves but the blade still works ok with shaving foamPublished 2 months ago by david j
Keen to try something different after 30 years of using the big brands. Not impressed. Cut myself numerous times with trimming blade, and head ungainly around mouth and chin etc. Read morePublished 3 months ago by M P.
Ouuuuuuch. After using azor and it's now longer available I took the plunge and ordered this. The shaving system is supposed to give an effort less glide over the face. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Amazon Customer

Very disappointed: the blades were blunt and lasted about 2 shaves. Definitely not worth the money, the well-known competition offers much better and more consistent qualityPublished 4 months ago by Amazon Customer
