    I ummed and ahhhed for a long time before buying this case as it seemed like a huge investment on top of the Kindle. I did a lot of research into alternatives but decided to bite the bullet & got for it as it seemed to offer the best protection for my kindle which did after all cost a large amount of money.

    The thing I like about it is the security of the case - I was worried that the elastic straps on some of the other cases would wear over time, but this one attaches securely to the kindle so there's no chance of it slipping out. After nearly a year of use the case is showing no signs of wear - and it has been in use every day. I've only changed it now as I decided to invest in the lighted version.

    The Burgundy is a really lovely colour and the leather is good quality. I'd definitely recommend this cover.

    I've had my Kindle for several months and thought it was about time I invested in a good quality cover.
    The cover was packaged extremely well. I know some potential customers might be put off by the price. But I can say with hand on heart it's worth every penny. To start with it's a very stylish simple design. Beautifully stitched quality leather. Two clasps clip into the left hand side of the Kindle. The cover does not hamper any of the buttons or connections.
    The inside of the cover is a super smooth micro fibre.
    Although I had considered other covers I chose this design for it's simple classic design. Plus the fact once open I can concentrate on the book I'm reading and not be distracted from the design of the cover.
    Also the grain of the leather stops any accidental slippage.

    I'm really pleased with this cover, a stylish perfect fit.

    I purchased this to accompany the Kindle 3G that I bought as a present. It looks the part, is good quality leather and, most important, it does the job intended ie it gives great protection to the Kindle when not in use.

    I would have rated it 5* but for the fact that the method of keeping the cover closed was a piece of 'elastic' to which is attached a bit of leather that slides up and down the elastic. Now don't get me wrong, it does the job of keeping the cover closed but, and it's a 'BIG BUT', just how many times of using it before the elastic either loses its elasticity or breaks? I'd have preferred another means of closure eg press-stud on flap or even a zip.

    Buying this on-line was not an easy decision given the price - how can it be worth that much I thought?

    Worth every penny.

    The cover is a perfect partner to Kindle, the experience starts when you receive the box, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the packaging, and its really encouraging to know Amazon take your experience seriously. The cover itself is weighty, it feels like it doubles the weight of the kindle. The front and back covers are card re-enforced leather, and feel like they'll last a long time. The elastic strap sits neatly in the front cover, which re-assures me it wont fall open inside my bag.

    The latch mechanism it great, it looks flimsy but I tried shaking the kindle loose and it wouldn't budge. To someone with OCD like me, It's easy to get annoyed by poor design or lack of symmetry, but with the Kindle locked in place and the cover closed, the gaps between the front and back covers are equal, as is the overlap around the 3 open sides - Top marks Amazon!

    The only (very) minor point of concern is that when the cover is open, the elastic strap doesn't really "fit" anywhere, and can feel out of place when you're holding it, but I suppose most people wouldn't notice.

    To sum up, if you have a Kindle, buy an (amazon made) kindle cover.

    I bought the 'proper' Kindle cover in lurid green to try to stop me leaving it lying around.

    The cover is good quality thick leather although I had to trim some of the stitching which was scratching my hand. The fixings are good quality too and secure the Kindle very well without adding bulk.

    But it's expensive for what it is.

    I love the burgundy red colour and the texture of the leather of the Kindle keyboard cover that I bought in March for my Kindle. HOWEVER, ever since then - the battery of my Kindle goes flat within 2 days of charging...It is very annoying because I travel alot and on several occasions I faced the situation of not being able to read because of 'flat battery' sign although I have charged my Kindle within 48 hours before the journey. I dont know what is the solution? - not use the cover and risk of my Kindle getting damaged when travelling, or keep the cover and carry my charger everywhere with me ...which contradicts one of the main purposes of the Kindle - convenient to carry and read everywhere...

    Before I bought this cover I tried several other home-made solutions, but it revealed pretty soon that if I want to protect my kindle I need something which is tough & professional. This cover is hard and light at the same time, fits perfectly to the reader and doesn't use up more space than necessary. As the cover has special features to connect the reader, it grabs the reader firmly. The secure fit and light weight enables you to use the reader in the cover, or, if you prefer, you can easily take it out.
    Perfectly safe for travelling.
    The design is very nice - simple and elegant - with premium quality.
    One tiny note - the colour of red leather cover is not as vivid as on the photos. It's much 'rustic', kind of old-fashioned. I really liked it.
    All in all, I recommend this product.

    I have been searching long for a cover for my Kindle. I knew that I wanted one that 1) would easily protect my Kindle 2) would allow me to easily use all of the buttons and 3) would look stylish but wouldn't hurt my purse too much. This cover is all of that and more. Being leather, it offers my Kindle a tough exterior, but the way that the cover is designed, it also allows me to use all of the buttons on my Kindle. So many other covers cover up some of the buttons or keys, but this does not at all. Also, I was able to get it in one of my favorite colors (apple green)! There are no pockets, but that's just fine since I wouldn't want to stash anything in the cover that could potentially hurt my Kindle anyways. I couldn't believe that the price was what it was because so many other covers cost more and do not protect your Kindle as well (this cover is made especially for Kindles because it actually hooks into the side of your Kindle...VERY impressive). Love love love this cover!:)

    I got the Kindle leather cover in burnt orange. After a brief moment of confusion in how to actually lock in the Kindle, it's been working perfectly ever since. I am never afraid that my Kindle will fall out. It is completely secure. The orange colour is lovely and discreet. People tend to assume I'm just reading a regular book until they see the Kindle. The leather cover itself is quite rigid and thick so that it protects your Kindle but you can actually bend it around the back if you want to. There's an elastic band that comes around the front of the cover to keep it secured when it's closed and in your bag or wherever which feels very strong also. This accessory is almost a must have for the Kindle. It's just not safe without a cover of some kind and this one is of good quality.

    When I purchased this cover for my Kindle, I was nervous. I worried that the hinge system wouldn't work well, or would break (I've heard of some of the hinge systems for Kindle being really crappy and causing a lot of problems). I also worried that I might not like the color, since I've read a review by someone who was disappointed that the color didn't look like the picture. My mind was eased the second I opened the box that contained my new Kindle cover.

    The outside is very pleasing to the eye. While the color was slightly different than it looked in the picture, it was a much more vibrant shade of pink, which I was happy with. The hinge system works like a charm, and holds my Kindle securely in place. The first time I used it, I was worried about it breaking, but I am now confident that won't happen (with reasonable usage). It is very easy to remove the Kindle from the hinges, as well.

    I especially like that the front cover can be folded back, so that I can read with one hand, and that there is a strap that goes over the outside to secure the cover while it's closed. The only downside to this cover is that the edges of the cover are all semi-exposed. While it covers the front and the back, the top, bottom, and right side of the cover are open. If you carry your Kindle around in a purse or backpack, be careful. It can still get scratched or damaged if it's too close to a sharp object.

    Overall, though, I am extremely happy with my purchase.

    Nachdem ich einige günstigere Schutzhüllen für das Kindle angesehen hatte, entschloss ich mich doch für diese von Amazon selbst. Wie unschwer zu erwarten war, stellt Amazon selbst die ideale Hülle für den eigenen E-Reader bereit.
    Das Design des Kindle gefällt mir, weshalb ich es nicht in einer hässlichen Plastikhülle verpackt benutzen wollte, wie es bei anderen Produkten der Fall gewesen wäre.
    Die Hülle von Amazon wertet das Gerät aber sogar noch auf, da das Kindle bei geöffneter Hülle praktisch frei daliegt, dementsprechend gut bedient werden kann und außerdem indem sie es schafft, ein kleines bisschen das Gefühl zu vermitteln, ein echtes Buch in der Hand zu halten, sodass ich anfangs sogar ein, zwei Mal - meine Gedanken im Lesen verloren - eine Seite umblättern wollte.
    Die Kritik mit der Befestigung kann ich zwar nachvollziehen, ich werte es aber nicht als Fehler, da man - um dadurch Hülle oder Gerät zu beschädigen - wie schon gesagt wurde die Schutzhülle nicht nur von der falschen Seite öffnen(was eigentlich nicht vorkommen sollte), sondern auch noch mit einer gewissen Gewalt an die Sache gehen muss, da es einen gewissen Spielraum gibt, wie weit sich das Kindle entgegen der Halterung bewegen lässt, ohne dass es zu einer Beschädigung kommt.
    Man könnte noch erwähnen, dass die Hülle schwerer ist, als das Gerät selbst, was aber nicht weiter stören sollte.
