Out of all the new bands of the last year or so, Medium 21 are up there with the best of them. The problem is, they don't play garage-bloody-punk, they tune their guitars and they've got more than a degree of talent. This is why Medium 21 are one of the greatest new bands that you'll never hear, at least not for some time.
If 'Daybreak vs Pride' isn't recognised as the best single of last year, and if 'Junctions In Our Sleep' isn't one day considered a classic, then there really is no justice in the world.
Longwave, Mew & Death Cab For Cutie alike, it seems that any band nowadays that tries to do something interesting, intelligent and not appeal to the lowest common denominator is just destined for 'cult' status. Buy this album not because it's cool or anything like that, just buy it because it's great.

As I say, I recently went to see these guys live (won a free ticket - value for no money I tell yaz!). I thouroughly enjoyed the gig, especially the random keyboard effects and Jimmy Saville references. Oh and the music was great, singer's voice is bloody lovely!

HASH(0x8d6e8e58) out of 5 stars Great debut by Northampton newcomers. 28 Mar. 2006
By Garrit Wenzel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
If you really like uniqe independent/alternative rock beside the mainstream but not depressive (lyrics maybe) and with nice melodys - your right. This album is entertaining - some faster songs, some slower - but every part is typical. Medium 21 seems to be newcomers but they have their own style. This is mostly caused by the charismatic and unparalleled voice and the similar (to me) sound. It became one of my most heared CDs last months. Hope the will get more known to have the possibilities for more albums.

Its like the Archers of Loaf mellowed out A LITTLE. I cannot believe this went nowhere. Pay the 66 cents and bliss out.
