Rating stands only for the b-side, Skream's remix. The La Roux song is a piece of functional, if uninspiring, sub-Eurythmics elecropop; the Let's Get Ravey remix, on the other hand, is Song of the Year material. Minimal, sparse, bass-heavy and.. incredible.

This masterpiece of minimalist electro pop, combined with the impassioned and eerily high vocals of Elly Jackson, is so bang on trend that I'm expecting it to feature as a soundtrack to an 'Ashes To Ashes' trailer any day now. As both the song and the sleeve suggest, the early eighties are very much alive and well, and the resulting sound and imagery are inkeeping with the period without being unhealthily derivative. The 'Let's Get Ravey' remix, whilst good, doesn't really 'get' ravey until about a minute to the end, but don't let it put you off.

The 1980's return and why not..? Experimental retro electro-pop. A singer who's not karaoke or looks like an airbrushed bit of plastic! Great! I'm in my 40's but this current boring trend of music being cynically driven down my throat by my age sake Simon Cowell is driving me nuts. So come on La Roux and youth. I'm with you. Start breaking the bloody moulds with different styles or experimental music. The charts have been too long without personalities, artists in control, or indeed good catchy up-beat songs!

You'll know the single but you will definitely know it's dubstep counterpart, Skream's Let's get ravey remix. They're both brilliant tracks and will remind you of the beginning of summer, and La Roux's rise to chart supremacy.

La Roux has such a unique and fantastic voice that I'm so jealous! It's a great single and a good remix to go with it. Defiantly someone to watch in the future, we've not heard the last of her.
