Younger children will love the tradtional nursery rhymes like "Ba Ba Blacksheep", and so on.
There are some odd inclusions, though. The Macarena was that annoying dance tune / fad that irritated most of us back in the day! There's no way I'd let my kids hear that song! There are some dated choices (Ballad of Gilligan's isle, anyone?), and some really obscure ones, too. In this category, "Can you read my mind?" from Superman is included. Yeah, how does that go again, because I've never heard anyone sing it, and I can't remember it from the movies, either!
I was irritated that the book does not stay open, which makes two-handed piano playing difficult. Plus, some of the music is very hard to read, with some looking like faded photocopies! The arrangements are meant for the accomplished pianist, and I wonder why the arrangers didn't think of including simplified arrangements of the tunes, for younger musicians to try and play. Plus, the arranger has clearly fell foul of the old shortcut of merely opening a guitar chord book at random and including whatever shape matched the piano chord - which results in some hard to play shapes that would fluster accomplished guitarists, let alone a beginner.

I own MANY music books I have collected over 40 odd years. I have found that bound books do not stay open the thicker they are. With books like this you really have to NOT try and keep them in AS NEW condition. You have to flatten them out and sometimes use a clamp. I wish all music books came in a spiral binding. Sheet music is fine, but books need a spiral binding.
That said, you can flatten this book out so it will stay open.
Also, the version I received is the 2005 version. It has about 60 less pages than the 1999 version. It is still available as USED on Amazon, and yet Amazon is combining the reviews for both versions. The newer version has less songs and has a blue cover. The older version has a beige cover. Same Characters on each. Later I will post a photo of the table of contents. I really hate it when a music book is available for sale but there is no listing of songs. That's why people are buying music books. There are a ton out there! Most people are looking for a combination of the level of playing and the songs.
NOTE: I tried to upload two photos showing the table of contents but for some reason Amazon is not allowing my photos to upload
Then he was ready to move on to Easy Piano Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Harry Potter. But he still goes back to this book and enjoys picking it up and playing whatever cartoon is on his mind.
Being a child through the 70's, I found the selections in this book great. Wide variety, Pink Panther to Bugs and the Flintstones. And who can forget the Road Runner?
The Charlie Brown song is not the one we all remember and love, but one I don't remember at all. Otherwise, for my son (and I) every song in this book was a hit!
