Have a child who wants to know about how the weather works with lots of practical things to do? This is the book for you.

It has a hands-on style with lots of pictures, but with plenty of the real science to answer the questions that 10 year olds love to ask.

A book they can go back to again and again, whatever the weather!

Fabulous! Mark Breen's new book helps kids and grown-ups understand how the weather works. He gives great instructions on how to build weather instruments. He gives lots of hints for predicting the weather, including looking out the window. The Weather Man's Song is a hit!

HASH(0x92ace960) out of 5 stars This author has actually met a child 12 Mar. 2007
By N. Brendlinger - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is a fabulous text for introducing the beginning "meterologist" to the weather. My children adore the hands-projects, illustrations, and the cartoons added for comic-relief. As a parent, I loved seeing my three children work together on a project. The excitement created in my home was a joy to watch. As a homeschooling parent, hearing them jump out of bed asking, "Can we do science first?" was delightful.

HASH(0x92ab3aa4) out of 5 stars Great Book......Fine Humor 7 Jun. 2012
By John Thomas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I picked up this book just recently for a neighbors kids birthday. He is one of those youngin's that loves everything about weather. Talking about it, running around in the rain, soaking up the sun, and wondering about snow storms and such. Weather is such a great hobby for kids. And though its true that there are plenty of books around that are geared towards kids in making them understand much of it, few can do it better than this Williamson Kids series that not only does an excellent job in explaining it all, but also does it with great illustrations and a healthy dose of humor as well. The chapters are laid out and very thorough without ever really seeming to go over the top of a kids head. Best of all in my opinion is how it seems to keep the interest and even educate the adult reader as well. And, the whole book is not just about talking about weather, but actually educating your youngin' on forecasting it themselves. I liked it as soon as I thumbed through it, and it has proven to be wildly popular with my neighbors son. He can hardly wait till winter so he can forecast his first Nor'Easter. A great book that is humorous, educational, and excellently written that I highly recommend...: )
